they shouldve showed the last 2 fights on tv that way incase something like a quick KO happend in the title fight they wouldve had a backup fight and clay guida on tv is a good idea his fights are almost guarenteed to be exciting and long not that i dindt find the main event exciting but they needed a longer display of the sport

It was an anti-climactic ending to the hype machine that led up to the fight. The UFC expected this to be the next 'Forrest vs. Bonner' to launching the UFC further mainstream. Instead we were lulled into a spectacular finish. Better than Jon Fitch lay and pray session, but the amount of hype generated led to the disappointment, I think many of us were expecting the main event to be a competitive fight, moreover, many of us also felt Bendo vs. Guida would be a great fight. And it was fight of the night.

Even Dana's poker face went on tilt as he criticized Cain's game plan and took aim at JDS' cardio implying that Cain could have won. I felt like he wanted Cain to win since it looks better to establish a champ than to re-crown a new one (seemingly after every fight). The tirade reminded me of Dana's disgust at the Pride 2003 GP when Chuck got smashed by Rampage.

Is anyone actually still watching UFC anymore? I find it is too much like pro wrestling now and has lost most of it's draw for me. Dana white has become Vince McMahon.

Good Riddance, you comparing this sport to pro wrestling(what's pro about it?) shows how ignorant you are.

There are only a few guys who talk trash, but the majority of MMA fighters are intelligent, respectful people.

Go watch some tennis, this sport is too complex for you.

Anyone see Sonnen walk off on OTR? What a friggin loser this guy is, I hope Anderson knocks him out

OTR

I thought I wanted to see someone finally beat Silva, but after watching that interview, I want him to make Sonnen tap again. That was just retarded, Lansberg was asking him legit questions and Sonnen was just dumbfounded, he had no clue what was going on.

Not sure why people are surprised, UFC heavyweight title fights never leave the 2nd round, and rarely get out of the 1st round.

yeah but most ufc heavyweights are pretty crappy and not very skilled

JDS and Cain are actually very skilled guys, and despite them being heavy handed heavyweights, people expected a much more competitive fight

year? Try one of the best fights ever. 2 Legends colliding in the most epic fight ever. What a display of heart by both guys in that fight. Didnt agree with the decision but that blows any other fight out of the water this year. Atleast imo.

I fully agree. I would rate that fight in the top 10 MMA fights of all time. I know it sounds hyperbolic to some, but, it is true. The UFC announcers and brass (Dana White) are full of hyperbole, but, in this case, their assertions were quite true. What an unbelievable show as well, the last three bouts were great fights. I predicted a TKO by Hendo in the 3rd and it looked to be going according to plan when he dropped Shogun early in the 3rd, but, Shogun was unreal from then on. I had the fight at a draw, 47-47 (Hendo first 3 rounds, Shogun 4th, and a 10-8 5th round for Shogun), what did you have?

In any case, I don't think they'll have any trouble hyping a rematch if it comes to it in the future.

It should've been a draw based on the ufc judging criteria. Feel bad for shogun, the guy seems to have terrible luck. I would love to see a rematch though. It'd be a shame if they dont make one.
