Down by the River
Moussasi's jab packing a lot of power. Of all the ways MacDonald could have tried to take him down, that might have been the dumbest. RRypien37
I say Mousasi would be the title holder in the UFC too. So experienced, SO well rounded and still in his prime years. Absolute stud.

Actually they could have Machida fight Bader too, as Ryan walked into the wood chipper in their first fight. How cool would it be in a couple years to see some cross over UFC vs Bellator fights? like back when Dana took Chuck over to scrap the Pride dudes. Really tough to see. It is obviously hindsight, but I wonder if moving up to 185 (not to mention he also wanted to fight in Bellator's heavyweight tournament) was him trying to prove to himself that he was over the Lawler brawl. Gone are the days when guys like BJ Penn and Moussasi fought above their weight class. There is too much talent out there at every division. Yeah, Conor moved up to 155 and became champ, but I'd say that 155 is his natural weight class anyway. He bullied people that were a lot smaller than him and then moved up. DC and GSP you could argue were guys that truly fought above their weight class to win a title.

I hung out with him for a night years ago, when he was first getting started. I was a GM of a nightclub and the promoter, a small female, asked if her 'friend' could hang out while we counted the money in the office. I smiled at her and said your top tier security can come into the office, no problem. She didn't expect me to know who he was. I'm happy to say I told him he would be great in the future. I remember he was cleaning his hands a lot with hand sanitizer. I guess he didn't love the nightclub yucky environment and didn't want to get sick. haha. That Lawler brawl though hey?...those two men should forever walk with their heads held high. I've never seen anything like it, they were fighting on a different plane than mortals. Easily one of the best fights of all time.
bishopshodan
UFC has lost it. After a long anticipation...this is the fight that they have slated to headline NYC. Joe Rogan has already stated he doesn't even know who Eubanks is. Bellator looking better by the second. Many in the MMA community were surprised – and angered – today when it was revealed Valentina Shevchenko vs. Sijara Eubanks for the vacant women’s flyweight title had been booked for the UFC 230 headliner. https://mmajunkie.com/2018/10/twitter-reacts-valentina-shevchenko-vs-sijara-eubanks-ufc-230-headliner

( I know, I wont hold my breath) Nothing to see there. Mousasi would/will destroy him. Machida is way past his prime and with USADA around is getting no extra help. Bader is WAY too big for Machida. Yes Lyoto used to fight at LHW, but was a very small one at that. Heck, he isn't even one of the bigger middle weights. That fight should not happen. Machida needs to test clean for a good couple months before worrying about fighting anyone at Bellator.

Yeah I didn't realise already been 4yrs since Machida beat Moose and even longer (6yrs) since he knocked out Bader at LHW. Btw I thought those two dudes would have won in the first fights, but Machida used to find a way. That said, at 40 I agree he has lost his step. I also think he has changed his style too much. Ever since JJones choked the life damn near out of him, he stopped using that straight back Shotokan stance it seemed. That Karate uniqueness used to help make him so elusive and effective. I still want that Mousasi rematch as Moose is so salty about it. But the few guys that give Moose issues are the technical strikers. Still it should be no challenge for him in the rematch. ( edit: and Lyoto has confidently responded to Mooses recent call out https://mmajunkie.com/2018/10/lyoto-machida-gegard-mousasi-better-be-strong-for-rematch-bellato) Couple notes on the Machida suspension. -Bellator is not making him wait ( though he will have to be tested I assume), he's headlining Hawaii in Dec ( such a win for Bellator over UFC) https://www.mmafighting.com/2018/9/12/17851450/lyoto-machida-debuts-former-champion-rafael-carvalho-bellator-hawaii -You know that he declared what he was taking before any test? he openly declared it on his list, he thought it was fine. The substance was 7-keto-dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), to reduce stress. You can apparently find it on store shelves and had only been recently, at the time, added to the banned substance list. He and his team claimed ignorance, but that's no excuse. He did his time like a good boy but in comparison to other cheaters this suspension is regarded as quite heavy handed. Mousasi, like many fighters believes he is the best. It must be hard to admit he got beat, so he runs his mouth about it. Yet of all caught cheats, Machida's case is small beans imo. Although, If anyone wants to knock Lyoto for what he ingests.... https://www.mmamania.com/2009/03/23/lyoto-machida-drinks-his-own-urine-every-morning Edited October 3, 2018 by bishopshodan

That's if Triamisu even makes weight. Conor may ended up getting schooled by Uncle Cringy TFerg instead. I will always pull for a striker over a grappler...lay n' pray, cuddle struggles , wall stall, is no fun to watch. So I would like C Mcgregor to win again Khabib. However, I put the TV on mute when that coked up leprechaun starts doing his lucky charms dance. Kid is hella annoying.

This is where things get tough for Bellator. They landed Moussassi, he becomes champ, he has his "superfight" (not my word) with Rory, and now he's left with a bunch of tomato cans and over-the-hill fighters. Coker needs to go recruiting or Moose needs to go back to the UFC if he is going to be able to have more of a legacy.

Although I haven't seen enough about the undefeated Lovato, but past him, who else? Bellator has been doing well getting eyes on their product. I think they made great signings with Meathead, Phil Davis, Rory, Moose, Benson, Bader...but most of the other UFC crossovers have been big names that are past their due date. UFC is still superior, IMO every UFC champ beats every Bellator champ. Mousasi vs Whittaker being the closest match up.
