roster19
What in his head thinks that he is better than Fedor? Other than Dan Henderson the competition he has faced is horrible. Rich Franklin's no slouch. Before Silva was in the picture, Franklin was a beast and a solid champion. I can even see him out striking Hendo in their upcoming bout, given Hendo doesn't unleash that right hand. The reason Anderson thinks he's P4P is the way he's dominated his fights(prior to the Cote match). He faced a striker in Franklin; broke his nose. He faced a jui-jitsu artist in Lutter; submitted him. He fought a rounded champion in Henderson; tweaked his strategy to prevail. I'm not saying Silva is the best in the world because I'm quite positive he's beatable by the likes of a Fedor, for example. All I'm trying to say is not a specious champion, and that he has a right to feel highly of himself.
Khalistan_Zindabad
Fedor teaching in France. They were damn excited to see him. Yeah i think he pretends to be more humble than he is. If he thinks hes truly not the best, then mention who is the best. If he thinks he is the best p4p, say it. I mean if you want to "pretend" to be humble at least say throw out a name. Fedor has NEVER been defeated and hes not a better fighter than Anderson? What in his head thinks that he is better than Fedor? Other than Dan Henderson the competition he has faced is horrible. Hes a 6'2 230 pounder that cuts to 185 to fight. Fedor is 6'0 240. They could easily fight but Fedor would just destroy him. He will never move up to LHW or HW to fight. He will keep beating up crappy middleweight and C level LHW's. Him being cocky against Cote, doing the moonwalk and putting on a michael jackson hat against newton after knocking him out, not giving better fighters than him credit show that he thinks hes the $hit. Lol he could easily say Fedor, but maybe he doesn't say anything because of the class different, it's just the fact that he says hes not the best that makes me sort of think he's somewhat modest. Was he 230 before ? The moonwalk, was fracking ignorant then he did the little bow crap, and when he shook hands with newton he was acting like he was doing him a favor or something. Lol how do you feel about Mir and Rampage these guys are pretty cocky right now, about UFC 92. I'm hoping Nogeuira beats Mir, Wanderlei has beat Rampage twice before so I doubt he'll win this time, but silva is 5-5 in his last 10, I don't know what that's all about, maybe he's losing it. All I'm trying to say is not a specious champion, and that he has a right to feel highly of himself. Rich Franklin is good but hes not great. The middleweight division is the word in all of the UFC. When asked if the winner of BJ Penn vs GSP will then become the p4p champion. Dana said no they still have a long ways to go. Its obvious that it is a marketing scheme by Dana to try and get people to believe in the hype. People dont buy Anderson's PPV's so he trying to sell the idea. Lutter is now not in the UFC because he sucked. He was able to get Silva down whenever he wanted. At the moment Anderson is not even close the level of competition, Fedor, BJ, GSP, Wanderlei, Shogun have ever faced. Rich Franklin was never a dominant champion like Matt Hughes was. Dan Henderson is equivalent to Jon Fitch. Beating the champion of the greatest division in the UFC (WW) (LHW is more stacked now but still new since the pride merger) + BJ Penn is 3,4 times greater than beating Hendo + Franklin. Anderson would get killed by Fedor. Anderson would get killed by most of the LHW's. He got his donkey kicked in Pride Fighting in Japan to cans. look at his fight against Takase. when taken down to the ground he is complete crap against someone who knows what they're doing. beaten again by Ryo Chonan who is a WW and on the undercard of the last UFC. Its ok to say Fedor is better because i mean the dude is better. If he doesnt think that other fighters are better than just say it. Hes "trying" to be humble. What Fedor has achieved in his career is like 3-4x greater than Anderson. Anderson walks around at 230. He never fights at his natural division of LHW. He cuts a $hit load of weight to make 185. He could easily make 205 like he did a few months ago against Irvin. He has even cut to 175 before in Pride. When you have defeated all the smaller dudes at 185, i think its time he moved up to LHW for good. Hes talking about retiring because he doesnt want to fight guys his own size and reach. Most guys want to move up for a better challenge like GSP. He is a natural WW that wants to fight at MW now. BJ Penn is a LW that wants to fight at WW. Chuck Liddell wants to fight at HW. Same with Allistar Overeem. Anderson Silva is the only dude that goes lower. Now he wants to fight GSP. I mean seriously. A 230 natural dude vs a natural 185 pound dude in GSP. If he beats GSP im sure next he will want to drop to 155 to fight BJ Penn Its like Chuck Liddell now moving to middleweight and fighting Anderson. Makes no sense. Thats why Dana says Silva will not fight Chuck Lidell who is the same height and reach. Because Chuck will knock him out and destroy the hype he built up for him. Anderson is not ready to be on a p4p list. Hes only fought 1 or 2 really talented guys. And he was getting owned on the ground by Dan before he gassed out because of the big weight cut. As for Quinton. I think hes actually really humble. Hes funny as hell though. Mir is cocky but he always discuses who he thinks are better fighters. On ESPN he acknowledged that BJ Penn and GSP were the best fighters in the world. He didnt say "yeah there are better fighters than me out there. Who? Um well no one" haha. Wanderlei vs Quinton will be a war. in Pride they like the guys to stand up more than to go on the ground. Plus its a ring where you can get cornered. So the axe murderer wont have the same plan as last time. But in the other direction Wand is now training at Extreme Couture which i think is much better than Rampage's camp Wolfslair in England where they train Michael Bisping. I think Bisping is an ok fighter and has not shown anything great. He looked great on TUF but didnt look good after for some reason.
Pfizer
What is the UFC doing? Dana White is going on a power trip. Jon Fitch has now been relegated to the preliminary fights. He has been taken off main even status for his next ufc fight. January 31st Under card (May not be broadcast): 170 lbs.: Jon Fitch (17-3) vs. Akihiro Gono (29-13-7) 155 lbs.: Manny Gamburyan vs. Thiago Tavares 155 lbs.: Chris Wilson (14-4) vs. John Howard (10-4) 265 lbs.: Jake O’Brien vs. Christian Wellisch 170 lbs.: Matt “No Regard” Arroyo (3-2) vs. Daniel Cramer (0-0) Gono is awesome to watch. Even though he lost his last fight hes a good fighter and has some of the best enterances in MMA. Check out his entrance at UFC 89 in october that they didnt show on the PPV. I mean thats awesome. I would love to see an entrance like that. I dont like them coming out real boring like every other figher. This one in pride vs Denis Kang was his best one. And the chinese chick in the back is super hot :D Just because Jon Fitch said Dana threated to fire him if he doesnt sign some stupid video game contract he is now acting like a child and dropping Fitch where people wont watch him. Pathetic. Dana should actually go to business school to be a professional. He dropped out of college to be a bellboy at a hotel and then an aerobics instructor. He thinks he knows how to be a professional.. but the reality is that hes just some guy that has super rich friends, the Fertittas, the billionaires that own the UFC. ========== Top middleweight contender Yushin Okami has also been relegated to the preliminary fights. Main card * Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans * Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir * Quinton Jackson vs.Wanderlei Silva * C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio * Cheick Kongo vs. Mustafa Al Turk Preliminary card * Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister * Antoni Hardonk vs. Mike Wessel * Matt Hamill vs. Reese Andy * Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan * Dan Evensen vs. Patrick Barry[5] Okami is the top contender for middleweight. Why would they not give him the spotlight? This is like the Jon Fitch fight. Where nobody knew who he was because the UFC kept him on prelims and when he fought GSP no one really cared. But after the fight he became respected more. CB Dolloway is a can at the moment. He should be on the prelims. A lot of people are pissed at this decision and the Jon Fitch one because these are 2 dudes everyone wants to watch. UFC just needs to stop the TUF machine just for a bit here. Let the veterans gets first dibs on the main event. Let the new guys prove they are good enough to make it to the main fight on the huge xmas christmas card. ================= according to brazil's TATAME.com http://www.tatame.com/news Thales vs. Anderson confirmed for UFC 97 on April 18 in Canada. Montreal i guess. Thales Leites??? Hes another can. His biggest win is a decision win over Nate Marquardt. But then again the middleweight division as a whole sucks so im not too suprised but i was thinking Anderson would fight Okami who is actually a dude with some skill. But again... UFC will hype up Anderson as the greatest that ever lived, Goldie and Jo Rogan will talk how spectacular he is, and then Anderson will punch this can in the head and everyone will praise how spectacular the win was. I think after Leites Anderson should fight a 12 year old girl. If he can beat her up then he will be the best fighter that ever lived. Anyone watch the countdown yesterday? Compared to other countdowns this one was pretty bad i thought.
Harbinger
Its pretty cool how The WWE and the UFC are becoming so alike these days. I really enjoyed the Chris Benoit killing his family thing. Now UFC has to show they can have that too with Justin Levens.

Pfizer
Hey is UFC92 going to be in theaters ? not sure. i havent heard anything. maybe try their website or something. Well today should be a dandy folks! * Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans * Interim Heavyweight Championship bout: Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir * Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva * Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Mostapha Al Turk * Middleweight bout: C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio Preliminary card * Middleweight bout: Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister * Heavyweight bout: Antoni Hardonk vs. Mike Wessel * Light Heavyweight bout: Matt Hamill vs. Reese Andy * Welterweight bout: Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan * Heavyweight bout: Dan Evensen vs. Patrick Barry[5] Its tough to make any pics here. as most of these fights can go either way. anyone check the weighins yesterday? the old rampage wanderlei rivalry lives on. Panda
My picks for the night: * Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans - Forrest takes this one in an exciting barn burner of a fight. It will be knockout (or TKO) or decision. No subs here. Forrest has amazing confidence right now and according to Couture he's the hardest working guy at Extreme Couture. That's some praise. * Interim Heavyweight Championship bout: Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir - Mir has great JJ but Nog's got the conditioning and the better standup. Nog takes this in less than 5 by submission. * Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva - Rampage finally gets his victory over Silva. Rampage will be looking for a resurgance after his loss to Forrest and his subsequent "crime spree." He's started his fighting career anew after firing his long time manager and trainer and I think he knows now what it will take to defeat the Axe Murderer. * Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Mostapha Al Turk - I know nothing about Al Turk and Kongo doesn't excite me very much, aside from his scary look, but I'll go with Congo based on records. * Middleweight bout: C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio - This will be a boring 3-round fight with Dollaway taking the decision. Yippee.

Pfizer
thanks for the video, silva vs rampage will be the fight of the night no prob. you'd think that now UFC owns Pride that they would show their fights on Spike. They should show Wanderlei vs Rampage I and II on tv to hype this fight up. But i think they dont want people to know how good pride was. They kind of want to sweep pride under the rug and only mention them when they need to.

I almost completely stopped watching MMA when the UFC bought and dumped pride. Now that Station Casinos is on the verge of Bankruptcy UFC's situation is starting to look a little insecure aswell. I watched the Vanderlei rampage fight on PPV when wandy knocked rampage out so bad that he fell across the bottom rope. One of the best knockouts I have ever seen. The other really good PPV was when Anderson Silva gets owned by Ryo Chonan with the heel hook. Oh I miss pride.

I dont think Station casinos will have much of an impact on the UFC. I was thinking the UFC should be more like pride with the pride entrances. The music starts the fighters get on the ramp and are showcased one by one like fighters. In the UFC these guys walk into the arena like they just came from the washroom or something. When you watch Pride it felt like you were watching something grand. A big event. When you watch UFC it seems like some cheap production. Might be why they dont want to show pride People will see how great the entrances were and then when they show UFC starting up with the crappy metal music and that dumb spartan that looks like its a B movie they will want UFC to put more money into it. It looks like the UFC does the bare minimum for fights. They are still using the same crappy graphics from the 90's. With all the money the fertittas had you would think they would put more money into the production of each UFC.

Now I only go to sherdog to see what's upcoming. Tonight looks like it could be a good card. Lets hope so. Any Chance you or anyone else post on the Sherdog forums?
