OMG Snow?

Makes you wonder where your tax dollars are going. Not a single street around here has been salted and it's very difficult to tell which have been plowed. My mum works for the school - the whole main section of the road is untouched by any plow.

Bikes lanes, dumb ideas, and supporting unnecessary protest

Every time it snows Vancouver collapses.

Do the people of greatest place on earth ever think about buying more snow plows?

Too cheap, and since we only a maybe a week of snow a yr, compare to other places that get snow for months.  Not worth it

My neighbours got their car stuck in a big mound backing outta their driveway. I'm watching them push & nothings happening, so being a good neighbour I offer to pull them out with my truck. (I live in mission)

So I'm pulling up a steep hill & the road is all ice, naturally I have to give them a bit of a tug to get out of the hole they dug for themselves, but its not a problem I pull them out easily.

First comment is the guy telling me I didn't have to pull so hard (wasn't even hard & he had a hitch receiver which I attached too, so the car is fine), then he asks me how the roads are and just drives off....

Doesn't say thank you, and just leaves our shovel lying around which they had taken from the front of our house... unbelievable.

Agree, hopefully they are better prepared  if major disaster strikes.

Too corrupt.  Taking tolls off bridges was super stupid.  That lost revenue has to be made up elsewhere (we still have to pay off those bridge debts) and clearly it came from snow removal.

Maybe if the corrupt government took some of the kickbacks they get from the mob for supporting their Casino money laundering scam we could keep the streets clear?

Tolls were stupid.  Tolls cost CC her election  and put the NDP in power.  Only tolling one or two cities citizens in BC made no sense and was hardly a fair approach to investing in BC intrastructure.  Having effective roads for BC business and moving products benefits all BCers so the costs should be shared.

Snow removal money is available... but our government chooses to spend it on other things.

Oh yea those Mission roads can be a pain when it comes to the hills.  Seen more buses over the years than I can count stuck on Stave Lake let alone cars/trucks for those who have no clue how to drive.

Tolls are a necessity.  That’s the best way to pay off the bridges.  People could choose transit, and not pay the toll.

Agreed. S K just managed to get the one person out of 100.....the other 99 would have been extremely grateful....

....as someone who's been on both ends of those situations several times, I can say with confidence that the guy you towed was a schmendrick....(got that word from Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter....always wanted to use it....^_^)

Saw a guy out on his bike on the road two days ago here on the island.  I mean really?  You just have to be out on the road in the most dangerous conditions possible?

That’s just stupid.  Sidewalks should come first so people don’t walk on the roads.  Just shows how our government has no clue.

Hook it to his CV axle next time. That’ll show him.
