CaliforniaFire
Who's liking this inter-league play? I think it was a smart move by the MLB, not much inter-league play going on last season. I knew the Dodgers/Angels played between those two teams, they're the only ones I've seen as a inter-league play. Also the Angels/Giants did once per season or something to that effect. Then the A's/Giants. Padres, last season being the odd man out on inter-league play. hahah.
marleau_12
Yanks win 5-0. Domination by Burnett. Went 7 innings, 1 hit allowed, 10 K's.

hank4hire
Pretty big day for Jayson Werth today. 4-4, 2 bombs, and one was to the 5th deck of Skydome.

HighwayToHell
Someone want to tell me how in the hell my New York Mets are still even within striking distance of first place in the NL East? If we played any worse we'd be the Washington friggin' Nationals......and at least the Nationals are hitting some home runs......This lousy excuse for a pitching staff (besides Santana and Pelfrey) is enough to just about make me vomit every time I watch them.......play some freakin' defense would you please? HighwayToHell
Frankly, even Santana has had a few ball-licking outings recently too. 6 runs (5 earned) against Milwaukee last game, 9 ER against the Yankees a few before that, 5 against Philly before that (though the Mets did win that game). Not his usual standards. But the Metropolitans are suffering largely because of injuries right now. Here's their DL list: Carlos Beltrán CF Jun 22 15-day Bone bruise, right knee John Maine SP Jun 7 15-day Right shoulder fatigue J.J. Putz RP Jun 5 15-day Right elbow surgery - out 8-10 weeks Ramón Martínez SS/2B Jun 3 60-day Fractured left pinkie finger Ángel Pagán RF/LF Jun 1 15-day Strained right groin José Reyes SS May 21 15-day Right calf tendinitis Carlos Delgado 1B May 11 15-day Right hip impingement Oliver Pérez SP May 3 15-day Right patellar tendinitis Billy Wagner RP Mar 27 60-day Left elbow surgery - out for season That's 2 steady if not spectacular starters, plus 3 of the regular top 4 in the batting order. Guys like Gary Sheffield have filled in well, but you just can't lose that level of talent and expect to win as many games.
