hank4hire
Does anyone know when McGowan and Marcum are supposed to be back?
shiznak
McGowan is progressing slowly after shoulder surgery so the team is targetting a 2010 return. Marcum is making progress after tommy john surgery, he had a scary setback awhile back (there were talks about career ending) but is due to start a rehab stint sometime this month. The organization is being cautious about setting a time table but i'm optimistic that he may return to the rotation this season.
NorthVan Canuck
The Phillies scored 10 runs in the 1st inning against Johnny Cueto, 8 of them with 2 out.
gmen81
22-1 now for the Phillies. Good thing I picked the Phillies to win this game.

Bernie Brewer
Jarrod Friggin Washburn with the 1-hitter. Yes, it was the O's, but still... Of course, he had better defense than the below playing for him.

Mr X
Marcum should be fine, he's a pitcher who depends on changing speeds and location. McGowan might have a tough road ahead because no one knows if he'll have the same stuff anymore... and it was amazing stuff before the surgery. If the Jays had both of them this year, I'd bet the Jays would be leading the AL East still.
hank4hire
BJ Ryan lost 3mph on his fastball after TJ surgery but some pitchers actually throw harder when they come back, hopefully Marcum picks up where he left off before he got hurt. Romero for ROY! Agreed Mr. X, if the rotation was healthy Jays would definitely be contending in the AL east

hank4hire
Don't forget the 2 spots still available through the vote: On the AL side, i'd like to see Lind make it (surprise surprise), similar power numbers to Kinsler and Inge but way better BA. On the NL side, I'll go with Pablo Sandoval although Mark Reynold's 24hr deserves some merit like you mentioned for 3B -Agree that Morneau should be starting at 1st over Texeira -Jared Weaver got fleeced, Tim Wakefield makes it with a 4.30 era! Bosox bias -Dustin Pedroia got the MVP treatment over Aaron Hill, he's been solid but no where near last year -Hamilton made the team because he's the "feel good story of last year" Dye and Lind should be on this team over Hamilton or even Zobrist -If Rolen had better power numbers he would've made a good case but i guess there is a certain level of power expectation from that postition so can't argue with Young and Longoria I don't follow the NL as closely as the AL so I'm not going to pretend to be overly knowledgeable but the one obvious ommission is Gallardo with similar or better records than Lilly and Santana and way better ERA
RUPERTKBD
I'd have Hill starting for the AL, and Lind would at least be there as a reserve. (my Jays bias shining through ) I also agree that Hamilton doesn't really deserve his spot. I would like to see Cruz and Dunn in this game as well, although I agree that Werth is deserving too. Kinsler - Perdroia is a bit of a toss-up, but I would have given the Ranger the edge personally. He doesn't have the Monster to play pepper with in half his games.
