Raoul Duke
By the way, you guys know that there is a guy from Victoria in AAA Tacoma right now? Michael Saunders is an OF with good athleticism and power. It says he went to Lambrick Park. He will be up in Seattle in September and should start in LF next year. Just FYI. The Alchemist
Dan Haren's whip is .80 That would the 4th best off all time for a single season. He needs to get more attention.

Temujin
as much as it pains me to say, doc leaving might be for the best not for the team, but for him...he's been so loyal to this team and still believes in them (for w/e reason) yet management like that idiot JP Ricciardi constantly fail to put together a serious team every off season they need to get rid of guys like rios, who's a complete bum moving doc makes no sense for the jays cause hes easily the best pitcher of the decade

Gretzky's Mullet
Oh come on now, Rios is not the problem. Wells has not given us full value for his contract, but the real issue is lack of bona fide DH. Millar and Delucci are both dreadful, and neither one should swing a bat again this season. f
Gretzky's Mullet
So, here's the number one question in MLB today: can Nationals outfielder Adam Dunn hit more home runs this season than his team records victories? No easy feat in baseball, as usually guys who put up big home run numbers contribute to their teams winning more games, not to mention that an abysmal season is 100 losses (or more), and a team reaching that mark of futility would still win 62, requiring their best slugger to topple the pre-steroid era mark for homers to accomplish the feat. I don't believe it has ever been done before. Possible? EDIT: Currently, the Nationals lead Dunn, 26-24.
hank4hire
^^That would make for a good trivia question if he accomplishes that. Kind of ironic, personal accomplishment in the face of team futility

The Alchemist
Who saw the highlights from the Twins/A's game? Twins were up 12-2, A's came back to take the lead 14-13. Then in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs the Twins have runners on 1st and 2nd. The A's pitcher throws a wild pitch. The runner from second tries to score, the ball beats him to home, but he manages to slide under the tag. The ump calls him out, game over, A's win. b3.
Ah... memories. 1992 BC Little League Championships. Yours truly struck out the one and only JASON BAY twice in one game at Lambrick Park!! Ha ha... hanging on to old glory. And M's now six games over .500. AWESOME!! Haha, that is so cool.

Gretzky's Mullet
Here's a bit of a trend in the majors right now: teams desperately trying to squeeze quality starts out of hugely overpaid, re-tread pitchers. Picture: Barry Zito: $18,000,000/season, 5-10, 4.89 ERA Jason Schmidt: ~$16,000,000/season, made his first start of the season last night, and won, though not at all convincingly Bronson Arroyo: $12,500,000/season, 10-8, but ERA over 5. Carlos Silva: $12,000,000/season, and thankfully, hurt. Oliver Perez: $12,000,000/season, 2-2, ERA about 8. Up until last year, Mike Hampton: $15,000,000/season, averaged 7 wins per season The would-have-been Tigers rotation of Willis, Robertson and Bonderman, had Rick Porcello and Edwin Jackson not had breakout seasons to support Verlander. Jose Contreras: 10,000,000, 4-8, ERA nearly 5 Soon, we will witness the return of Tim Hudson, $12,000,000, who has pitched mostly well over the last couple of seasons but is a wild card coming out of surgery. Wouldn't they all love Roy Halladay?
