Gretzky's Mullet

Recommended Posts

Yes, originally reported by the NY press....

I always knew it, he went from average hitter in Minnesota to perennial MVP candidate with the sox. I'm glad his name came out and i hope the rest of them come out so that the fans and players can put this era into the past

I wonder how Martinez is going to fit in the lineup, sit the captain Varitek, platoon or rotate him at 1st?

Peavy is a great pick up for the chisox with the central still up for grabs

I'm going to miss Rolen's gold glove in the field, not to mention his great clutch hitting this year :(

JP, you suck! If anyone hear frequents the Jays forum, you know how angry the fans are these days

He traded SCOTT ROLEN, omfg. Go die in hell JP, I shall follow Scott Rolen my favorite player after Halladay. F*** Did he trade that tub of crap Overbay? did we get anything good for Rolen?

Yeah, between splitting time with 3 players and pinch-hitting, he will get plenty of ABs.

For me, more the first...I would rather see them win than the Cubs or Yanks, but that's about it. At least they actually develop a lot of talent rather than just paying for it.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aj2e...o&type=lgnsSomeone seems to agree with the general sentiment on this board.

The Rolen trade wouldn't have been bad if it'd been an aside to a Halladay trade. Ricciardi could've stocked the cupboard with prospects for those two guys, and gotten a guy who still has potential to improve in Encarnacion who can show why he was much better regarded a couple of years ago than he is this year. That would've looked like strong rebuilding moves for a squad without a shot this year. Instead, you devalue your best chip, and all you do is trade one of your best hitters (and incredibly good defence) for medium grade prospects.

Most of the other trades have been pretty smart. Ricciardi just got a little too big of a head about what he had to offer, and the other GMs told him to shove it. He clearly showed his ineptitude compared to his counterparts, which on top of the rest of his general incompetence of the last 10 years, should mean his donkey.
