Bernie Brewer
Could Joakim Soria of the Royals be the most underrated relief pitcher in all of baseball? Of course he doesn't get a lot of work pitching as a closer for the Royals, but the guy has sparkling numbers all season long, has given up 5 runs all season, and gets called upon for 2 inning saves. Gretzky's Mullet
What a double play started by John McDonald to end the first inning! Don't worry if you missed it, it'll be on the plays of the day for absolutely sure.

Bernie Brewer
Man, if he could hit half as good as he fields he would have a gold glove. Amazing play!!
hank4hire
That's why I don't care about gold gloves...guys like late career Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Micheal Young have all won gold glove(s). It's too bad, to, because many deserving people have won them, like Olerud, Erstad, Ichiro, Torii Hunter, Beltre, Eric Chavez. It's far too based on reputation. Gretzky's Mullet
I posted this link ages ago, but I will again: fielding bible In it, one of the authors makes a fairly compelling case that Derek Jeter is the worst defensive player in baseball, and possibly the worst defensive shortstop in the history of baseball. Gretzky's Mullet
I have read that, I don't think he's the worst. Jeter makes plays that he can get to fine, but has little range, which is his problem.

hank4hire
Just got my first look at Josh Roenicke who was acquired in the Scott Rolen trade, has a nice plus fastball. Encarnacion looks a little out of shape, hope he regain the form of a few years ago
b3.
Anyone see the Orioles ballgirl pocket Reddick's first HR baseball? Mora doesn't look to happy in Baltimore.
Bernie Brewer
Fair enough. But who's worse (among regular players)?
Bernie Brewer
Anybody else watching the m's game? They got absolutely boned. Down 4-2 in the 9th, 2 out, runners on second and third. Jack Wilson is up with two strikes. CJ Wilson throws a breaking ball that Wilson fouled into the dirt, ump calls it swinging strike 3. If the M's were in contention, I would care more about this. It still sucks though. On to 2010!

Gretzky's Mullet
Seriously if Randy Wells doesn't win rookie of the year there's something wrong with the league.
b3.
Is Rolen doing better than Edwin is with his new team.
