Temujin
Jamie Campbell said something about getting drunk with a bunch of fans from Vancouver on the Blake Price show a few days ago.
RUPERTKBD
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aj2e...o&type=lgnsSomeone seems to agree with the general sentiment on this board. The Rolen trade wouldn't have been bad if it'd been an aside to a Halladay trade. Ricciardi could've stocked the cupboard with prospects for those two guys, and gotten a guy who still has potential to improve in Encarnacion who can show why he was much better regarded a couple of years ago than he is this year. That would've looked like strong rebuilding moves for a squad without a shot this year. Instead, you devalue your best chip, and all you do is trade one of your best hitters (and incredibly good defence) for medium grade prospects. Most of the other trades have been pretty smart. Ricciardi just got a little too big of a head about what he had to offer, and the other GMs told him to shove it. He clearly showed his ineptitude compared to his counterparts, which on top of the rest of his general incompetence of the last 10 years, should mean his donkey. Gretzky's Mullet
I think the fact that Cliff Lee was available is what screwed Riccardi up. He really wanted Drabek, and the Phillies lilely would have done it if there hadn't been such an attractive plan B out there. He is at fault for not realizing this , however. As much as I like Halladay, there is no way the Jays will be able to re-sign him after next season. They should have taken the package that included Happ, or the rumored Buchholz deal from the Red Sox. I understand the idea that the Jays could make a run next season with Marcum and McGowan back, but I just don't see them winning anything as long as the albatross that is Vernon Wells continues to hang around their collective necks. Gretzky's Mullet
Incidentally, when does Jeff Niemann enter the discussion as potential rookie of the year? Numbers are just as good as Romero's. Again, I think Beckham should get it, but there isn't much to distinguish those two guys after him.

Pedroia
I cant believe my boys lost in the 13th last night. We actually ran our of pitching and had buchholz warming up in the bullpen. Thats how strapped we were. Thats a moment we need masterson but then again we wouldnt have had it go that far without V-Mart in the line-up. We have a huge series with the Yankee's this week. a 4 game series. Friday night its Beckett Vs Burnett. Its going to be a showdown in the Bronx. Gretzky's Mullet
So does Prince Fielder face any punishment from the league for attempting to enter the Dodgers clubhouse to avenge himself on Guillermo Mota? Or maybe a bit of controversy could be a kick in the pants for the floundering Brewers, who are still in contention but are going to need to get hot to have a chance to pass the Cubs and Cardinals for a playoff spot. (Really what they need is another pitcher or two, as two members of their already unimpressive rotation are currently on the DL).

Nuckers#1
Frack, I hope not. The only way I see Halladay re-upping his contract is if they make a good run and make the post season. I'm not holding my breath but i can always hope, right
