Gretzky's Mullet
I agree with that. However, there are times that I wish Cito would go with the hot hand instead of sticking with the program. I've seen games where League has the splitter working to perfection in the 8th, but he doesn't go out for the ninth, and we're left biting our nails as Frasor or Downs comes in and tries to get the save with average stuff. Gretzky's Mullet
I don't like the concept, but it's the same proportion. One start is about worth five games for a pos player.

Humble Rodent
That gives room for an Adam Lind extension and re-upping Marco Scutaro. On top of my wish list is some Canadian boys Jason Bay and Rich Harden

hank4hire
When is he going to get fired?? I think the Jays are planning on spending over 100M to keep up with the sox and yankees
Bernie Brewer
Nothing confirmed yet but Bob McCown of sportsnet predicts he'll be fired by Oct 5. Ted Rogers opened the purse strings for Ricciardi with limited results and it was believed that payroll would go down after he passed away but apparently new brass wants the Jays to be able to compete with Sox and Yanks so the vault will be open again /index.php?showtopic=246276&st=0&start=0">http://forum.canucks.com/index.php?showtop...t=0&start=

hank4hire
Adrian Beltre takes a ball to the ball and could be out for the season, ouch!! "Manager Don Wakamatsu said the Gold Glove third baseman is out indefinitely, and might need surgery because of bleeding in a testicle. Beltre does not wear a protective cup because he says it's uncomfortable" http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/mari...arinotes14.html

That would be brutal, but that's what he gets for not wearing a cup.

RUPERTKBD
Brandon League has the best stuff in the pen hands down but when he isn't locating his pitches he gets into trouble and allows runs in bunches which is why his ERA is so bloated (4.50) in spite of his great strikeout ratio 53K/54IP and decent WHIP

Gretzky's Mullet
So, it's 14-0 Chicago leading over Pittsburgh right now. After 2 innings. I think maybe the Cubs have this one in the bag.
hank4hire
Yeah, I'm aware of this fact. (I watch pretty much every game) What I was getting at is the way the Jays seem to look at their bullpen and decide who their closer is going to be based on who has the best numbers. I understand the line of thinking, but I just don't think they have a true closer like Rivera, Papelbon or K-Rod. What I was suggesting is more of a bullpen by committee approach. If League has his good stuff in the 8th, leave him in for the ninth as well. You still have Frasor (or Downs, if healthy) to call on if he runs out of gas.
