dKs89
Maybe so, but I was stunned that he didn't come up with that line drive. Amazing night. The Rays come all the back on the Yanks and Papelbon blows a save. To make things even better, we don't have to watch that irritating Tomahawk Chop garbage in the play offs. I'd love to see Doc win a championship, but I have a hunch about the D-Backs.... ....however, the most important thing is that Detroit beat the Yankees. If that happens, I can live with any other result.

Gretzky's Mullet
Thinking about it more, I realized that a lot of Red Sox fans are likely also Bruins fans. So, now maybe it's our turn to take pleasure in their misery. Have a nice winter d-bags. (no offence Trevforever).
'Nucks Fan from Montana
What an unbelievable night last night! Can't believe the Red Sox and Braves choked away their big leads in their respective Wild Card races, and the Cardinals and Rays came all the way back. Should be an exciting postseason. Gretzky's Mullet
So, who is everyone pulling for now? I am personally cheering for the Brewers, Cards, Tigers and Rangers. Mostly because I don't like the D'Backs, Phillies, Yankees or the Rays.
Madness
Last night was a crazy night in Baseball! Enjoyed seeing Boston and Atlanta lose. Will be of course rooting for the Rangers.

shiznak
Cards FTW, they actually took the season series against the Phillies. Hate to see Halladay not get a championship, but I absolutely hate the Phillies almost as much as the Yankees.

Gretzky's Mullet
I wouldn't be going in feeling all that confident if I'm a Yankees fan. Yes they've got a fearsome lineup, but their pitching is not good. Sabathia is a rock (though he's had a few speed bumps in the postseason) and Ivan Nova has been a revelation aside from a few rotten evenings, but they've got to be cringing that they're going to have to start one or more of Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia, AJ Burnett and Phil Hughes in a playoff series. Right now they've got Freddy going game 3 with CC and Nova scheduled for 1,4 and 2,5 respectively. Lucky for them, in the first round, the Tigers are in the same boat: after Verlander, they've got Fister, Scherzer and Porcello on the schedule before planning to come back with Verlander in game 5 if necessary. None of these guys is a complete dud: Fister has an ERA under 3, and Scherzer and Porcello have both been really solid in the past and have combined to go 3-0 against New York this year. However, I'm ready to bet that if they're down 2-1 in game 4 they come back with Verlander. The other series is really where there are some exciting pitching matchups in the ALDS: Niemann vs Wilson, Shields vs Holland, Lewis vs Price and Harrison vs Davis, then repeat of game 1 if there's a game 5. For Texas, All Star Alexi Ogando will be pitching out of the bullpen, as will rookie of the year candidate Jeremy Hellickson for the Rays: both of these guys would start game 2 if they were playing on a team in the other series. As for the NL, it's no secret which team has the pitching. The Cardinals are going to need a real miracle to beat any of Halladay, Lee, Hamels and Oswalt. The other series' matchups will be interesting to see though. As scheduled, it's Gallardo vs Kennedy, Marcum vs Hudson, Greinke vs Saunders and Wolf vs Collmenter. I'd give a slight advantage to Milwaukee for depth, while Greinke has a higher ERA I'd want him more than Saunders, and I'd definitely want the veteran Randy Wolf over rookie Josh Collmenter. But I think Arizona's high end pitchers are better, Kennedy's turned in a season worthy of fringe Cy Young mention, and will be hard for Gallardo to beat, while Hudson and Marcum is a wash as I see it.
