old_time_hockey
Richmond's Shawn Cowie and the Mundies Towing Top Alcohol Dragster team went to the semi final round at the NHRA National Event at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas this past Sunday where he lost to Chris Demke. They also qualified in the #1 position with a 5.335et @ 269.13mph. Which was 0.011sec quicker that the #2 qualified dragster. Shawn's run of 5.369sec @ 268.49mph was quicker and faster than Demke's 5.379sec @ 266.21mph, but Demke had 0.024sec advantage off the line to give him the holeshot win. Shawn was up against racers that have been racing this class longer than he has been alive. To go to a semi final is great. To lose when you have the faster car is a bit of a disapointment...but that is where more seat time comes in. I remember watching Shawn out at Mission in his old dragster at 19 years old ripping off mid 6 second laps at 219mph. Congrats to the team!
