Crabcakes
Burr works on every line. Do we need him? You're funny.
Popular Post *Buzzsaw*
Yeah, I know there's that other thread, but I wanted to make a clear point. Everyone last year was saying Burrows was washed up and done. And it looked pretty bad... what with the injuries, especially the ankle break, for a hockey player, that is most difficult one to recover from. And starting this season he was a little slower, a little more tentative... looked a little tired. And that resulted in his demotion to the 4th line. But Burrows is Burrows, put in a tough situation and he responds. He put his nose to the grindstone and would not quit. What I am seeing now is close to the complete player we saw in 2010/2011. The wheels are almost back completely, the anticipation and smarts are back, the hitting and aggravating play are back, the goal scoring, (considering he's not playing on the top line) is back. Even when he's not putting actual points on the board, he is contributing. Take a look at the goals the Canucks scored in the last 10 games, and you'll see Burrows figures in them if he's on the ice. Goal by Frankie Corrado is a case in point, Burrows made that happen just by his persistence and ability to get the opposing defense off their game... in that case, I think three Tampa players were too busy trying to deal with Burrows aggravation to notice Corrado sneaking in. No question the guy is getting older, but he's shown clearly this season that he's not finished by a longshot. If a fraction of the drive Burrows has could rub off on Kassian, we'd see a real turnaround in that guy's career.

desiboynux4lifee*******
trade him and get a decent prospect, seen Burrows against elite teams this year, I have not been impressed. http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8470358&season=20142015&view=log Edited January 22, 2015 by desiboynux4lifee*******

Mathew Barzal
The main difference between Burrows and half the current roster is that he is genuinely passionate about playing for this team and is excited when a difference is made, by him or by others. His career was raised here and the memories he's made in this jersey will never be forgotten. He's willing to do the bitch work in order to have this team succeed, but he has regressed due to age. That much is undeniable. He's on top of his game as far as effort is concerned, but we'll never see him in 2011 form again.
Nuck-Shot
bang on with the kassian comment. Burrows should be wearing an A if he stays consistent. The guy really is the embodyment of a canuck, can play himself haggard without a sulk

Maybe u should can it till the playoffs..... he just might likely be our most clutch forward

Block me if you wish, there are plenty of optimists on here to keep you satisfied.
Popular Post apollo
Still kind of overpaid but I love him anyway. I'd say he's proven he isn't as overpaid this year as we thought. He brings so many intangibles and he's been vital on the powerplay. I can point out 4 powerplay goals in the past month that he was a huge part of and he didn't get points on. His defensive play has been incredible as well. Honestly I think 4 would be fair value... But for the discounts he took previously, you can't not like him for it. An extra 500k is fine. Really glad to see how well he's rebounded.

Gaudette Celly
He's a smart player and understands the game very well. In particular, he's willing to do what it takes to win, including going to the net and take a beating if it means a chance to get a goal. Yes he's lost a step but unfortunately the team doesn't have many guys with his game. 6-8 months ago I would have said he should be moved, but watching the team this season I think we'd be better-served moving a couple others first until we get a replacement that brings what he does. Tom Sestito
I said in the summer he'd hit 20 goals and 15 assists. Still definitely believe we should be moving fringe veterans, because 4.5 million for a few more years for a guy who looks most comfortable in a bottom six role is not smart. Nuxfanabroad
I'd say we fans all sorta' live vicariously through the amazing Burr. I mean, the guy wasn't drafted, & he was landscaping(spare bucks) ferGawdsakes! He's the proverbial 6-49 winner who gets to endlessly share his fortune with the most beautiful city in the world. Now I'm not usually one to hard-sell the hyperbole, but is this the happiest human in the Universe?
Popular Post terrible.dee
I've maintained from day 1, Burrows plays with genuine passion and the only thing that will stop him is his own decision to retire. He's what I look for in a player. Plays hockey like he's going to war. I still think he's part of a select group that gets to retire a Canuck if that's what he wants. He may not be remembered like Linden or Bure, but 20 years from now he will still be remembered. Ring of honor for sure.

-AJ-
He’s been pretty good lately Not as good as 2011 Burrows tho I'd say he is as good as the 2011 Burr, but he's just not playing with the twins, so his numbers aren't so inflated.

Burr was also a beast back then, faster, better hands, a great player on any line. Age and wear jushappin.
