RUPERTKBD
someone mention in another forum the ref St. Laurent was a close friend with Auger.. i wonder if thats why the call was made... and some of those BS penalties Give me a break. Gotta agree with Ron on this one. Fact is, most refs are at the very least acquainted and the Francophone angle is overblown, IMO. Quebec is a pretty big province.... Baggins
No suspension to Burrows, Divestaud turned into him his responsibility. 6/10 on the dive wasn't very believable. Keep shoveling....

RUPERTKBD
You just have to be the original clutch. No one is as anti-Burrows as you. The funny thing is, I don't remember clutch being all that "anti-Burrows". I'd have to go back and look at the OP, but to the best of my memory, it was more a case of "Do we really need this guy? I don't see what he adds to the lineup"... Of course, he was proven dead wrong on that, but at the time, it was a fairly legitimate question. Burrows had been up and down and had been "called into the office" for a discussion with the coaching staff and management, where they explained to him what he needed to do, if he wanted to remain with the big club. I see far worse displays of "hate" directed at current Canucks (Kassian, Bieksa, etc.) than what clutch said about Burr.
 UFCanuck
His goal last night was classic Burrows. Shorthanded breakaway and makes no mistake. We're going to need those big goals from him and Higgins in the playoffs. All you have to do is go back to the first page on this thread to see how clutch describes Burrows. Pretty brutal. And then read the following rebuttals to see just how whack his opinion was regarded by pretty well every other poster. Back then, Burrows was making a pittance and was already our best defensive forward shutting down other teams top lines. He gave 100% every shift. 99.9% of CDC actually agreed on something for once! Miracles happen. That's what was so crazy about this OP....even back then! He complained about his "ability to play in the nhl", or "the stupid stuff the guy does", and about him being great on the pk? "Who cares!" He was "tired of him losing the puck, falling down everywhere seriously this guy falls down a hundred times a night can't he skate its ridiculous" You'll have to give me a source about him being "up and down". I don't think he was ever sent back down to the Moose. He was an instant hit with AV. He was valuable in whatever role he has taken on. When he turned into a goal scorer, he did have to learn to tone down his chatter and cheap shots and he did. But those pest attributes were what he had to master to survive in the brutal East Coast Hockey League, so that will always be a part of his game.
