DGFX.
Okay, so I'm pretty sure all they want here is for you to write a formula. So again, we'll let x be firsts (5 points), y be seconds (3 points) and z be thirds (1 point). Therefore, the formulas would be 5x, 3y and 1z (or just z, since you can just leave out the one). If you've got any more problems, just ask me

binkybonks
Do you think that the political/deplomatic technique of manipulation of peoples and truth are still used in modern times? Explain why/why not. I don't get it. At all.

binkybonks
What they're asking is do you think it's right to twist the truth and sometimes make up stuff in order to manipulate people.

twin22
OHhhhhh very nice!!! Maybe talk about the Black Market for classical art?... such as, for example, one of MANY examples, the Cycladic Figurines. There are 140 legitmate figurines, meaning they were legally excavated from sites etc etc etc. The problem is... there are 1460 illegitimate figurines, one of which was sold at auction in 1990 for $200,000. The main problem with illegitmate figurines and other works of art is that they cannot be put in their historical context, and thus.. are basically useless!! If you don't know where they came from then they pretty much tell us nothing... it's not so much the fact that they aren't in museums where they should be, it's that they lose all historical value this way. Also with those figurines, the 140 that were found legally, were found in 1,400 tombs... so 10% of those tombs had one, and there are 1460 illegitimate figurines, imagine how many tombs must have been illegally excavated/looted? Anyway... black market for classical art may be a good topic, and the problem with forgeries too... forgeries and the black market kind of go hand in hand..... just throwing stuff out there
The_Sand
Family Like a dependable shelter My family is to me They are a wall, A castle They keep me safe and warm And help mend my problems They are the rock of my life The foundation of my life They hold me together Keep me from shattering But like the sun does not shine forever Like the moon is not always full My family’s good nature can waiver Falter under the moonlight Miserable and angry Obnoxious and coarse My loving family becomes And it always seems That my family Was never meant to be And when the situation is hopeless And the absence of a member is the only solution Something clicks And brings the family back together Back into an endless cycle of highs and lows It needs refining, any suggestions? Ajax19
More derivative fun.... I think I found the first derivative but, ALOT of trouble with the second. g(x)=4x-2.6/(4x-6.76)^2 for the first derivative i got g'(x)=(16x-27.04)(-4x+1.56)/(4x-6.76)^4 i think thats right.. but can someone help me get g"(x)?? I've been trying forever and keep getting this big mess...

Chester
You = pure awesomeness. I hadn't heard anything about the Cycladic Figurines yet, and after looking into it, it's a perfect example of how so much potential historical information can be lost forever thanks to greed/carelessness. And that lead to the whole antiquities market - both authentic and black market, there's so much intriguing info out there, now just have to sort through it all But end of story, you're great, that really helped get me focused a bit more. THanks
