So hyped for his new album, it's amazing what he's done away from Alter Bridge and how far he's come from his Creed days.

I am a massive Tremonti fan.   I am a FRET12 junkie and have gone through all of his instruction stuff.   I am still a bit slow on Blackbird solo but have mastered a lot of his stuff to a point where I can not embarrass myself playing it.   I like Myles (his recent solo stuff....not really for me) but Mark makes that band (AB) go and his own stuff is magical.   Would also like Mark to do an acoustic album at some point.    I have been lucky enough to see him live twice (AB about six times) and nothing comes close.   I like Trivium, Arch Enemy, Soilwork and some others but nothing close to AB/Tremonti.

So happy to have found someone else on this board who likes them!

Damn, that's impressive! Especially the shows you've gotten to see! Honestly, I prefer his solo stuff over anything else he's related to. I've listened to all the Tremonti and all the Alter Bridge and his solo stuff resonates with me the most, though Myles and Slash have some awesome albums together too. I've yet to listen to the album Myles just put out. I was actually very surprised by his vocals, he's always been a killer guitar player but man. Guess having a singer like Myles around helps too eh?

You can hear Mark's voice mature a LOT from his background dabblings with Creed to lead with Water's Rising with AB and now with this own career.   I simply never get tired of listening to his stuff and his mix of distortion/wah on guitar is nearly the perfect metal sound for me - the AB intro to Crows on a Wire, for example, is simply awesome guitar.   I also like all the alternative tunings he uses.   It can be a major pain in the donkey if you try and learn how to play his stuff OR it can be an excuse to have multiple guitars with different tunings (::D).

What's your fav Tremonti tune?

I suppose I never noticed it as much, probably because I love how Myles sings. But damn, he's really progressed and his vocals have gotten better with each album he's put out. It's even bled into Alter Bridge a bit more which is really neat. His solo outfit is respected too because I've seen the name Tremonti listed for festivals and all sorts of things with all sorts of great rock and metal bands, it's a far cry from Creed for real. I don't play so I'll have to take your word for it, but he's certainly one of the more talented guitarists I've listened to!

That's a tough one tbh, I'd have to marathon Dust and Cauterize to give you a solid answer for that, I feel like his first album was more exploratory so it didn't grab me as much as the latter two. But damn, every song from those two albums are bangers. I should revisit his first album though, it's been a few years. What about yourself?
