Cried myself to sleep sometimes as its so sad. Had my Dad buy me a 45 of this song. I listened to it all the time!. It was the era and time frame of Lynard Skinner with Simple Man coincidentally enough which I also listened to. Led Zepplin. Maggie May Rod Stewart & American Women Guess Who a year or so earlier. But at that time, the internet was not available. And not a lot of old songs played on the radio, except on small AM stations. But it was played all the time... When I first heard Eddie Vedder do it, I thought they wrecked it? But I have come to love it as well. Link to comment

Canuck Surfer
Another terribly sad song from the same era. But fantastic, and a memory of better times. 1 Link to comment

Gurn
Looking for a sad song by the Jack's/Poppy Family try this: The two had a dang good career, would have liked another album or three from them though. 1 Link to comment
Canuck Surfer
^ That was Wayne Cochrane... Anyone know the history of Tom and Jerry? My mum took me to see Paul Simon in the 1070's. I've seen him 5 or 7 times. Just a smashing good artist! But about 6 or 7 years ago I saw him with Garfunkle. MFW they were special. Art perhaps the nicest voice I have ever heard? And even sweeter together, if you could say that about two 70 plus year old men. Such deep and poetic verse, subtle erotic tones of Simons delicate acoustic guitar, song after song. Yes I would! If I only could? I surely would... Like a Swan, that's here and gone... 1 Link to comment
Gurn
There was a skit on Saturday Night Live with Paul and a gal walking down the street and they keep meeting people that Paul knew; like his 1st grade teacher, the lady that ran the laundry in his neighbourhood when he was 8 yrs old and a Mrs. Migilicutty that attended one of his concerts in 1976 , sat 3rd row back on the left hand side. Lastly a big red headed dude comes up and asks " HI Paul, remember me?" Paul pretends not to know the guy... Art Garfunkel 1 1 Link to comment
