theboss-
Wicked match. Del Potro is just one of the reasons why Nadal will never touch soon to be Federers record of Grand Slams.

NucksFanTilIDie
Nadal is a better player, and will only get better while Federer is on his decline. Nevertheless, Federer is the man. They're both great players with a great attitude toward the game and eachother/rivalry, so it's just great to watch. I"m gonna have to give a "hells no" to Djokovic, he's such a d-bag
luineul
^ Imo, Djokovics' attitude has been improving. Woot for Federer... He was looking pretty bad during the first 3 sets, Del Potro was pretty much controlling the play. Thank goodness he pulled it out! I like Del Potro too but... Federer needs this. Killa
Federer's smug and annoying. At least Djokovic has no problem stating his opinion instead of hiding what he really thinks.. "He played so bad in the first set, I had a great effort by finishing even worse than him." Way to remain classy when losing
hockeyville88
Federer steamrolled Soderling in the French Open finals He becomes just the 6th man to win all four Majors, and he's tied Pete Sampras for the most all time Grand Slam titles (14) It would have been great if this victory could have come against Nadal or Djokovich in a 5 set marathon match rather than in straight sets against an unknown but at the end of the day Federer can't control who he plays. He outlasted Nadal and others and he deserved to win!

When Laver won the slams, 3 of 4 were on grass, not 3 different surfaces, it is very hard to compare different eras, equipment has changed and the depth of the game is much greater now, when Borg and Laver played, the 50-100 ranked players were no real threat at all to beat a seeded player, now there are guys outside the top 50 who can fire 130 mph serves and serve a top player off the court on a good day. While it's true that the lower ranked players weren't as good then, it's also true that the higher ranked players aren't as much of a threat in this era. Borg went into most tournaments with the prospect of beating the likes of McEnroe, Connors, Nastase and Ashe for the championship. I don't believe that Federer or Sampras has had the same level of competition on a regular basis.
