He can get into a funk and lose lot of points. Good thing he bounced back. Against a better opponent, he may have lost. He was sick with flu last week, hope he is ready for the the quarters. I think that rain delay helped him. Got focused again, and not being so negative about himself. He has all the tools physically to win a slam. It's his mental game that he needs to work on. Hope this is the year.

The rain delay really helped him. He was a different guy after that. Next up for him is Nadal tomorrow at 4 PM. That is going to be a huge test for him. I'll be pulling for Milos but I think it'll be Nadal in 4 sets.
Glory_Days
I know Milos has beat him two out of the last three matches they've played, but I have no idea what kind of shape Nadal was in. Nadal looked on form in his win against Monfils. I hope Fed makes it out of his bracket into final. Fed vs Milos, whomever wins I'll be happy, or Fed vs Nadal, old rivalry renewed. ShakyWalton
This Coco Vendewieghe is one of the surprises as far as Im concerned...she beat Genie and is crushing opponents..she looks really strong and is unseeded....I dont like her style much...but you have to hand it to her. Yeah I agree. She beat #1 seeded Kerber for a reason and she's showing why she should be considered a threat for the major. Looks in good shape so far vs Muguruza taking the 1st set

Nadal is fit, will run down a lot of balls. Milos doesn't move as well, and will need a good service game to win.

Compared to Vandeweghe's last two opponents, Genie actually played her pretty well. Raonic mentioned recently that he will probably never be as good of a baseline hitter as Djokovic, Murray, or Nadal so expect to see him up at the net a lot tomorrow. He talked a bit about using that as a method of throwing players off their rhythm so hopefully it works better than it did against Murray at Wimbledon last year.

I thought Genie played her as well or better than anyone she has met so far. Gets Venus next...should get by her I think but the train should stop at Serena. To be fair, that's pretty much where all trains stop in the women's side lol.

It's been a while since we saw Williams v Williams final.
CaptainCanuck001
Only watched up to the 2nd set, but Milos shot himself in the foot. Should have had the 2nd set. Hopeful I'll wake up to a miraculous 3-2 win for Milos but I'm not holding my breath.

g_bassi13
Vendewieghe pisses me off in her manners. It's alright to get hyped, but she comes off like a prick. She gets angry after every mistake, and taunts her opponent with a staredown and her arms raised after every small win. It's too much for me to even begin getting on her side. Genie has been floundering but in retrospect of even this early exit she was the only one that began to put up a fight thus far against Vendewieghe. Too bad she couldn't finish it. Too bad for Raonic, but it feels like every time the field clears up for him he finds a way to falter. It feels like it's more of a guarantee he'll lose with an empty bracket than a full one for whatever reason.

Couldnt agree more...my post back some in this thread I said I didnt like her style..she bothers me..comes off as an arrogant twit...I hope Venus kicks her butt. Beary Sweet
well good thing I didn't finish the match as I watched up to the 1st set when Nadal was going to serve for it. Real disappointing Milos didn't seem to get anything going. Every time he played the serve and volley game, Nadal always found a way to get a forehand or backhand winner by him and whenever Nadal served, he got his serve in the inside of the square as far as possible that Raonic was so far off the court that it just looked way too easy for Nadal to put a forehand winner into the open court. It wasn't really an upset to all of us though as we know what we would expect from a healthy Nadal. now it seems like Rafa has resurrected his career and is hungry for another major. I want Wawrinka to win but this has a Fed-Nadal reunion written all over it imo which will be a treat to watch. Hope that I'm wrong though
nuckin_futz
Disappointed in Milos. Didn't seem to ever get his head in it at all. I think he had 6 set points in the 2nd set and couldn't close. Nadal had him running all over and that's not a good thing for Milos.Nadal had a good game plan and Milos didn't.

Nadal played very well, but Milos head game is not there yet. Had to win that second set and he choked. Double fault on a set point? His serve is his biggest weapon. Won't be a grand slam winner until he can get over the hump when playing those top players.
