Ponyo - 7/10

It was a little odd, even for a Miyazaki film, lol. I knew it was more geared towards young children, but it still had its moments. He really captured the nature of young kids, and that was pretty profound, but the story line itself was quite strange... lol.

A Single Man - 9.5/10 - Very intense and superb acting/very beautiful film (so far best movie I've watched this summer)

Grown Ups - 8/10 - Was laughing throughout majority of the movie - predictable storyline though

Ghost Writer - 8.5/10 - Engaging and interesting storyline

Still need to get out and watch the new releases such as Inception and Salt - been hearing great things about it.

Million Dollar Hotel - 8/10

It did a very good job at illustrating the poverty in poor neighbourhoods. All the scenes where they filmed could have easily been the Downtown Eastside. I never took Milla Jovovich that seriously because all the movies I've seen her in she's shooting zombies or whatever but she played her role terrifically. Jeremy Davies is one of the most under-rated actors out there. The only problem was that the dialogue was sometimes said so fast or hushed so it was difficult to hear it all and I missed a lot. Subtitles next time!
