Watched Welcome to the Riley's last night. 8/10

A really good movie about guilt and redemption. If I said something against Kristen Stewart in the past, I'm taking it back, she played the role of the hooker perfectly, a sharp contrast from her role as Bella. A+ acting.

"Rampage" (incl. spoilers)

A movie that features a 20-something sociopath unleashing a massacre on his home towns' public streets after acquiring a bulletproof suit, a remote-controlled van full of high explosives (to take out the cop shop first, of course), and several rounds of automatic weapon ammunition. Justification: Population control. Or was it a robbery?

Highlights: The massive explosion created by what was inside the van was more powerful than what the sociopath expected, and he had to drive several blocks away to outrun the mushroom cloud. The sociopath gets his revenge on a witless coffee shop server who screwed up his order the day before. Same with a fast food chicken provider who spilled his order on him.

Lowlights: In a scene that would cause even the most violence-happy of us to cringe, a group of young girls in a beauty shop is first tormented and then senselessly slaughtered by point-blank machine gun fire resulting in a stack of gory bullet-ridden beautiful corpses. But a bingo hall full of old zombie-like smoking players? Spared.

Overall rating: The sane person in me says, "Don't ever watch." But the bitter loner in me who happens to agree that the world is heavily overpopulated says, "My bulletproof suit is in the mail and where's the nearest bingo hall?" 3/10

five easy pieces - 6/10*

I really liked some of the characters, but i didn't notice much of an actual plot, just numerous interactions between characters with no real point. I did, however, like the end

*disclaimer: if you really liked this movie, don't get all mad at me, i kind of did too, i just didn't really give it my full attn. (i was cdc'ing lol) Probably a better movie than what i saw, but i saw most of it so i thought i'd rate

I was sick for four days, so I watched a bunch:

The Fighter - 8/10

Great movie, dominated by its strong supporting cast. I'm happy that the mother won best supporting actress, because her performance was just as outstanding as Bale's. The lead character was too much of a pushover to feel completely sorry for, though.

-------------------

127 Hours - 6/10

Maybe it was because I was sick, or just not the biggest James Franco fan...but I found this movie boring. Too much flash and camera tricks for it ever to seem real and convincing...even though it was a true story. For the exact opposite - a virtually one-man movie in a confined space that actually makes you feel his predicament (despite it being pure fiction), see Buried instead.

-------------------

The Green Hornet - 5/10

Had its moments, but was mostly stupid.

-------------------

The King's Speech - 9/10

Really engrossing story, which really made you think about how seemingly small things are important, and supposedly superior men are just other humans.

-------------------

The Next Three Days - 6/10

Decent movie, but could have been so much better. Elizabeth Banks is hard to take seriously in this role. There are many great actors that show up in supporting roles, but are gone before they can leave a lasting impression. And when the movie begins the action-packed third act, too many things happen to make the events--which are a stretch of realism to start with--completely unbelievable.
