Scream 4 - 4/10

I was looking forward to this movie when it was announced, but really toned down my expectations by the time it was released. After watching it, it was worse then I expected. Worse, somehow, than Scream 3. Can't really get into it without spoilers, but it was a somehow a bad mix of non-nonsensical and predictable.

Inception: 9/10

It was like a dream. I'm guessing that Cobb is still in a dream at the end of the movie.

Never Say Never Again (James Bond): 2.5/10

Just pathetic: bad music, poor acting, terrible special effects, horrible storyline, worse concept. The only reason for the 2.5 is because Sean Connery is in it.

Drive 3/10

Seriously, how are critics raving about this movie? Adrenaline packed my arse - it took 40 minutes to actually get going and when it did, the only thing I could think was "Wow, the main character is an idiot." I almost fell asleep a couple of times and at one point thought this might have been a cheesy remake of Driving Miss Daisy.

Underworld Awakening - 7/10

The first movie was the best, the 4th at least did a good job of giving us something new while still throwing in Kate Beckinsale (who is the greatest actress to ever wear a skin tight leather outfit). In the end, it was fun and the only thing that really ruined it for me was the Car pulling up in front of the medical lab (filmed at SFU... there's no drive way there!)

Then you didn't get it...

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - 10/10

Wow... to say the least.

What an amazingly beautiful movie. Never have I experienced and gotten so much out of a movie before. So much emotion was felt in this movie - especially near the end. Hats off to David Fincher for creating this wonderfully done movie.

Underworld Awakening: 2/10

This is from someone who LOVES the first 3. This one added nothing to the story or trilogy; it didnt further expand the universe at all. Pointless, pointless, pointless. The CGI again was bad (hallmark of the series, but I usually overlook it), capped off by an exceptionally bad job of CGI'ing Speedman's face onto his old character, I would assume. because he had the good sense to avoid this trainwreck; too bad the rest of the cast didn't.

The story moves far to quickly (film has an 80 minute runtime) and doest develop at all. There was literally 3 different scenes; escape medical facility, fight lycans, return to medical facility.

Overall:

Acting was brutal (even for a Vamp/Werewolve deathmatch film)- This film really misses Nighy and/or Sheen's talents... badly.

CGI was god awful: I know the lycans look like crap in all 4 films, but seriously, it had been nearly 10 years since Underworld, and the CGI seems to have not improved at all.

Story was embarrassingly bad, it's like they took a poorly written piece of fan fiction and adapted it. Adds nothing to the universe and should not have been made.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Edit: MINI SPOILER ---- They didnt even have a Lycan jaw rip, something in the first 3 of the series....
