I think it's rather short sighted and immature to make such an uninformed assumption. I completely get it, I just feel embarrassed when I see my team celebrating to such great lengths after such a performance. It`s not 'calm down' it's more like, hell, we're 3-5/4-5, let's celebrate once we get the job done. We're still not a respectable team yet, and haven't played to the best of our abilities. This is a great win for us, and possibly a season breaker, but let's not freak out prematurely here, let's get the job done and pile up some more wins in a more convincing fashion. Until then, I think you've got to be relatively humble out on that field. I can`t put it any other way, i`ve explained my take on it, take it or leave it, but to make such assumptions is very ignorant.

No, I meant it and don't feel it's "immature" at all.

But what do you think is more important to the team right now - their "image" and how they "look" or winning? If you say winning then obviously you understand that it's important to them - it doesn't matter if it's one game or twenty, a big game (it was for them...do or die time) is worth celebrating and it's a lot of pent up emotion coming out (as was the gesture made towards the bombers). They're not in the church choir here, expected to behave a certain way. It's a football game for chrissake. It would be pretty boring if the winning team went "ho hum, we haven't won the cup yet". Every. single. game. counts.

Also, the team/fans feed off each other. Energy isn't something you harness after the play/game's done....it spills over. Just how it is (and I'm glad for that).

Former B.C. Lion Josh Boden Facing Gun Charges and Sex Assault Count

VANCOUVER — Former B.C. Lions football player Joshua Joseph Boden faces one charge of sexual assault after a number of women reported being groped by a man on the streets of Vancouver.

Boden has been on a roller-coaster ride through the justice system over the past year.

On Aug. 14, 2008, he was acquitted of assaulting his former girlfriend Kim Hallgarth after she wavered on the witness stand. The charge had cost him a spot on the Lions' roster.

Last September, he made the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Canadian Football League team, only to be cut a short time later.

On Oct. 12, 2008, he was charged in Vancouver with four firearms counts, including one of possessing a loaded handgun and one of possessing an unloaded handgun with "readily accessible ammunition."

In March of this year, Hallgarth — who Boden had dated for eight months last year — was found brutally murdered in her Burnaby home. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team continues to probe the slaying and Cpl. Dale Carr said Tuesday investigators believe the murder was not a random act.

"There has been no arrest and the investigation is still active," Carr said. "Based on what we have so far, investigators feel that it was not a random act of violence. However, that is as far as we are prepared to go."

On Monday of this week, Boden was arrested near Commercial Drive and Broadway in Vancouver and charged with sex assault and resisting or obstructing police.

Vancouver police Const. Lindsey Houghton said Thursday that Boden, 22, allegedly groped a woman earlier that evening in the same neighbourhood and that officers had "observed" the incident.

Houghton said Boden's arrest was very violent as he struggled with officers. He has also been charged with one count of resisting arrest and one of assaulting a police officer. A police dog aided in the take-down.

"When officers attempted to arrest the man, he tried to escape on foot and he was finally taken into custody following a very violent struggle by our officers," Houghton said.

Boden appeared in Vancouver Provincial Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody. His next appearance is next Wednesday. He is also due in court Oct. 1 on the gun charges, for which he was granted bail last fall.

Houghton would not say if Boden is a suspect in a series of other sex assault from July to last week in which women were groped in public places.

But he appealed for a young woman to come forward who was assaulted at a Burrard Street bus stop last week.

Houghton said a witness called police Sept. 3 after seeing the woman waiting for a bus in the 500 block of Burrard being groped by a "muscular black man" who appeared to be about 25.

"When she confronted him, he walked away," Houghton said.

When police arrived the victim had boarded the bus southbound and was not located, Houghton said.

"We would like nothing more than to charge someone for this crime," he said, asking the woman or witnesses to call investigators at 604-717-3473. "In order to proceed, [police] really need to talk to the victim."

First, they have to find the woman, who was described as being in her early 20s, with blond hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was white, about five-foot-six and 125 lbs., wearing a full-length cream-coloured coat and dark pants, and carrying a purse.

The suspect description given by the witness matches one released by Vancouver police last week in three other sex assaults and a stalking case, Houghton said, "and investigators are looking at any possible link or connection."

But he said it was too early for investigators to say there is a link.

The groping attacks began July 30 when a woman was walking in the area of Cardero and Nelson streets in the West End about 8:15 a.m. She was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her and then walked away when she confronted him.

On July 31 about 5:45 p.m., the same woman called police to say the same man had grabbed and assaulted her again on Cardero Street before fleeing.

On Aug. 29 at approximately 4:30 p.m., another woman walking in the area of Robson Street at Cardero reported that a man had been following her for 40 minutes and that she feared for her safety. She managed to enter an apartment building to evade the man.

The same day at about 8 p.m., a woman walking on Alberni Street was approached from behind and grabbed in a sexual manner.

Houghton said investigators will make links in cases if evidence supports them.

"The investigators are looking for similar patterns, they are looking for similar connections. They certainly look at similar descriptions, MOs," he explained. "They will be looking to link any cases they can if they have the evidence to."

Boden was a wide receiver for the Lions for just one season. He played in the Canadian Junior Football League for the South Surrey Rams and won the several awards, including most outstanding receiver
