Canadian
That interception/non-interception was the turning point of the game Well, at least we're still 5-7 RIGHT?? Good thing the Argos and Bombers suck so badly.
RUPERTKBD
I'm rarely critical of officiating, especially when it's my team that was victimized, but it absolutely boggles the mind that they can review two plays and get them both wrong. The ruling on the "catch" by Nik Lewis was so dumfounding, it left Glen Suitor and Chris Cuthbert grasping at ridiculous explanations for the zebras ruling the way they did. There was no explanation. It was a completely blown call, made worse by the fact that they had a chance to fix it using the replay, and blew it yet again. The second turnover cancelled out by the refs was on the Bryant catch over the middle. The replay showed that he indeed did make the catch on the play. It also showed that he went down on his own, and was definitely not "downed by contact". The play should have been ruled a fumble. The Stamps may have won this game anyway, even if these calls had been made correctly. Unfortunately for everyone but the Stamps and their fans, we'll never know. MegaNuck
The calls even out. The Lions have gotten a couple breaks this year. I think it's safe to say they need to fire every official at this point in the CFL and hire better ones. This is embarassing.

-DLC-
I didn't catch the game but when I spoke to my Dad about it on the phone, he was ranting about the calls. Too bad, it's one thing to lose fairly but when the officiating makes or breaks a game, it shortchanges everyone. In other news, it's fans like this that we don't need: Fan sent to hospital with stab wound after fight at CFL game in Calgary (CP) – 51 minutes ago CALGARY — A 25-year-old man was stabbed Friday night when two fans got into a fight during a game between the Calgary Stampeders and the B.C. Lions at McMahon Stadium. Calgary police say while the injured man was taken to hospital in stable condition, they're still looking for the suspect who stabbed him. They say the bearded suspect was wearing an orange B.C. Lions jersey with the number "2" on the back. He was also wearing a black and orange toque. Police are looking for witnesses to the altercation between the two men. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianp...MeVvEp4_t-Pfhkw
Seycove Seyhawk
Just a question here. I was wondering that when the Stamps punted it through the endzone last night, they got the point for the touchback, but when they came back from commercial, the point was gone. Anyone? Also, terrible officiating last night, it seems we just can't get two wins in a row.
Chester
Ya the officiating was pretty horrible, but the Lions have had two potentially game altering bad calls go in their favour this season, so it all evens out. Of course that's not to say the Lions would have lost both those games, against the Riders they outplayed them all game anyway, and against Montreal it only would have been tied, so they very well could have/likely would have won both regardless of the calls. But everything tends to even out, so their record is probably indicative of what it should be right now.

lateralus
Eskimo news... The Toronto Argonauts traded cornerback Byron Parker to the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday. In exchange, the Argonauts will reportedly receive a fourth round pick in the 2010 Canadian College Draft. Parker returned to the Argonauts last month after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles but had become frustrated by the coaching staff's reluctance to put him back in the starting lineup. "I don't want to be one of the me, me, me guys. I'm all about the team. I just don't think the explanation they have been giving is accurate," said Parker before this weekend's loss in Winnipeg. The two-time All-Star has returned six interceptions for touchdowns over his CFL career and the Argonauts currently rank last in the league with nine. But Argonauts head coach Bart Andrus felt Parker needed more time to learn the defensive system. "He is still learning all the details of the defence," Andrus told the Toronto Sun. "It's just a matter of time before he becomes a staple." But Parker disagreed with Andrus' assessment, saying the system has been easy to learn. "The defence that I grew up on, of how to play the CFL game, was complicated," Parker said. "You had to read, play with your eyes, under Rich Stubler. Here, most of the time I am high, or I got the dude in front of me. That is not hard to learn."

Also, terrible officiating last night, it seems we just can't get two wins in a row. It didn't go through the end zone, it was right by the goal line. The reason the point was taken back was because Calgary didn't give BC 5 yards, got a penalty, and lost the single point.

b3.
THE CANADIAN PRESS Paul McCallum wants out of Vancouver. According to published reports, the B.C. Lions veteran kicker has asked the club for his release. Trouble is, the CFL club is on the hook for the remainder of McCallum's salary even it granted him his wish so it countered by saying retirement was the only option McCallum could consider. McCallum opened the season as B.C.'s kicker and punter but suffered wrist and knee injuries trying to make a tackle in a game July 10 against Hamilton. With McCallum on the shelf, the Lions promoted Sean Whyte, 23, from the practice roster to handle their kicking duties. Whyte has performed well for the Lions, connecting on 17-of-23 field goals (73.9 per cent) while sporting a 41.8-yard punting average. Now ready to play, McCallum was a healthy scratch in B.C.'s 27-18 loss to Calgary last weekend.
