wow where are all the casey haters and nay sayers now?

people were saying buck should be the qb or lulay is better lmao

this team is better with casey at the helm, gonna be a tough game at montreal its either a nail biter or a blowout

The thing is - Casey's matured a lot. I was never a Casey "hater" (hard to be - he's one helluva QB) but I was skeptical of him because he did have an ego and that can disrupt a team (apparently when he arrived in Hamilton the first thing he said to his teammates was "ok, this is MY team now"). Plus, his play with Hamilton was less than stellar and he sustained injuries there...so yeah, it was a questionable move to some to bring him back. But he seems to be a new and improved, humbler CP. He's toned down the attitude and appears to be solely focused on playing as a "team member" now and is contributing as such. He's a gifted athlete and his ability to see/make plays and get away from pressure (he should've been sacked numerous times yesterday) make him a valuable asset. But the other stuff he had to leave behind and it seems that he has.

I Haven't really followed the Lions at all for the last couple years, but I've watched the occasional game. I go to uni in Montreal, some buddies and I are going to go the game on Sunday. Hopefully there will be a couple other Lions fans in attendance.

If so, look for us. We'll be drunk and orange!

This is pretty much what I wanted from the last week of the season. Lions to get the crossover and have the easier game against Hamilton. Anything can happen when they play the Alouettes. They just need to learn to close out games, it's been ridiculous this year.

When Casey bolted in 2005, I was more annoyed with his agent (aka his uncle) Jason Medlock and the spinjob he did everytime he was in front of a microphone. Obviously, he was, and still is ultra-talented. While it's been admitted, the three main parties in that debacle (Printers, Dickenson and Buono) have all admitted it should've been handled differently, I still firmly believe that there is no innocent party there.

Having said all that, and seeing him trying to turn beef liver into a prime rib sandwich aka Hamilton at that time, didn't work and left me skeptical on wether I'd welcome him back to the Lions Den. As time progressed, it became evident that something needed to be done. Pierce couldn't stay healthy and Lulay was on the mend. I had started at the point where: If I was Wally, I bring Casey in, sign him to a contract for the remainder of the season. Have a chat with him, laying down the unwritten terms of this signing (any beaking off and you're gone sort of deal) and go from there.

Near as I can tell, and talking to some of the regulars at Lions practise, Casey has matured significantly and lost some of that ego that some claimed he had. As for where I land in this thing, I don't care if they've got a transsexual as QB, if they win games, go with him/her/it.

Casey does bring that X-Factor that neither Jackson, Lulay or Pierce have. That X Factor also puts butts in seats and makes defending him that much harder, especially since Printers already had a pre-existing rapport with O'Neil Wilson and Geroy Simon. He's got a good sense of PJack's ability and is slowly becoming more comfortable with Emmanuel Arceneaux. Throw in some Ryan Grice-Mullen who seems to have learned how to catch. That quintet of receivers plus Martell Mallet and Ian Smart in the backfield, makes this a potentially very difficult offense to stop.

If you're Montreal's defensive coordinator, does the fact that Casey appears to be Houdini worry you a little bit? If it's me, I'm already losing sleep over it. Don't forget to remind him, that 12 guys is better than 11 when trying to defend. As Marcel Bellefeuille about that.

It was revealed after the game, that Hamilton only had 11 guys on the field when Mallett ran for 26yds on the opening play of OT. Not saying that the blunder didn't cost Hamilton, but Mallett ran away from where Markeith Knowlton should've been, not right at it.
