Where are all the Buck Pierce supporters now? That guy is done here in BC.

I truly wanted to be a Buck supporter but I feel his days are numbered/done. The repeated injuries are taking their toll and he's just not capable of leading this team when he's rarely here. I feel that Casey has had an impact, both on and off the field, that has been such a positive one that you don't pull another gaff by letting him sit in the passenger seat. He needs to be the one steering this time long term.

I was a Buck supporter, but that's when we had 2 options, either JJ or Buck. When comparing the 2 Buck was the better QB. When we signed KC though it was only a matter of time before he brought on the roll of the starting QB. Hopefully we're able to keep KC around because he brings an excitment to the game that the other 2 haven't been able to, and while I still believe Buck is a good QB, the injuries are just getting too much to handle.

Who is this "KC" person you refer to? :P

The tough part about Casey is that his skills aren't easily measured in a controlled environment, such as training camp.

As for Montreal at home, inside the friendly boundaries of Percival Molson they are extremely hard to beat. However, inside the concrete demon, no so much. 2007 proved that they can be had.

He came out and said that he didn't see the 2nd defender coming to undercut Geroy's route and pick off the pass. He knows he messed up and apologized to the fans via twitter.

Let me put it to you this way: If Jackson and Lulay don't go down with shoulder injuries, does Casey even get mentioned?

I probably said something along the lines of, no way in hell. In a typical season, you don't lose 3QBs to injury. Montreal barely lost 1 QB man game to injury, and that was probably more precautionary as dictated by the Als not having any meaningful games left.

But, desperate times call for desperate measures. People also change tack in desperate times.

Does that make me a hypocrite?

Not only that - Geroy was being mauled in the endzone...10/10 he makes the catch if he isn't being obstructed from doing so like he was. Yeah, it was a blunder but if (and it was very possible) they'd pulled it off, then they're heroes instead of zeroes. A bad decision, but when you're down there in the thick of it at game speed on the field, it ain't so cut and dry/easy. It's in the past and Casey's more than redeemed himself...really pointless to dwell on it (unless he was making gaffs every play - which he's not).

In positive news - Lions were named as both defensive and offensive players of the week. Rickey Foley is the CFL defensive player of the week as well as top Canadian. Last game was an impressive one for Ricky, as he had six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Casey Printers was the offensive star.

VANCOUVER — B.C. Lion Ricky Foley wasn’t happy last week, feeling he had been snubbed as a Canadian Football League all-star.

The defensive end more than made up for it Sunday, starring in the Lions’ 34-27 overtime win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL East semifinal. Today Foley was named both CFL defensive player of the week and top Canadian.

Leos quarterback Casey Printers joined Foley in the winner’s ring, being named offensive player of the week.

The sole remaining league award — special teams — went to kick-returner Skyler Green, whose Edmonton Eskimos dropped a 24-21 decision to the host Calgary Stampeders in Sunday’s CFL West semifinal.

Foley was a force for the Lions on Sunday, with six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. The league’s sack leader and West Division nominee for outstanding Canadian also won defensive player of the month kudos for September.

Printers also had a huge day Sunday against his former team, throwing for 360 yards on 24 completions as well as an eight-yard touchdown toss to Ian Smart in overtime to secure the Leos’ victory. In his fourth start since returning to the Lions in September, Printers added 13 yards on the ground on two running plays — which included a 12-yard, second-quarter touchdown run of his own.

Green, meanwhile, nearly single-handedly helped the Eskimos upset the Stampeders in Sunday's West Division semifinal. The rookie product of Louisiana State returned five kicks for 176 yards, including a third-quarter 93-yard touchdown return, in the 24-21 los. Green, who was a unanimous selection for the weekly award, also returned four punts for 77 yards.

The Lions face the league-leading Montreal Alouettes on Sunday in the CFL East final, while the Stampeders will play in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West final.

So did 2008. Mind you, not everyone there was cheering for them.

The man-love for Casey is overwhelming in this town these days

Can't say I blame people. I think people respond to the off-field persona as much as the on-field performance, and compared to the wooden interview style of Jarious and Buck, Casey is a much more engaging personality

Is it just me, or has Geroy lost his superness? The O-line has to find a way to avoid taking procedure and time-count violations, because Montreal will make them pay. I'm eager to see how Printers does against a stronger Montreal defense, I think he'll do fine if he starts well. Best of Luck BC!!!
