Guest AriGold
Vancouver Canucks’ Dale Weise’s arbitration date set for July 27 VANCOUVER — Barring a settlement in the next two weeks, Vancouver Canucks fourth-liner Dale Weise will have his contract decided by an arbitrator in a hearing scheduled for July 27. Weise, who turn 24 on Aug. 5, made $605,000 last season. His qualifying offer was $665,500. Weise joined the the Canucks just prior to the start of the 2011-12 regular season when he was plucked off waivers from the New York Rangers. He appeared in 68 games for Vancouver, scoring four goals and adding four assists. He also collected 81 minutes in penalties. A native of Winnipeg, Weise was originally drafted by the Rangers in the fourth round (111th overall) in 2008. Two other players who had filed for arbitration, Nick Bonino of Anaheim and Richard Bachman of Dallas, both agreed to new contracts Thursday.
