Cheers pal.

I read that as well.

It sucks, but better now than later.

It's a good thing the team has built up this cushion in the standings, it looks like we might need it. Hopefully we're done with injuries to the defense for a while... ***touches wood***

I suppose there's a silver lining if you want to look for one. Realistically however, losing Bieksa on top of the other keys to the dcorps, is going to hurt, i believe, but am hoping against.

The whole rest thing is kinda good i suppose...but i'd hate to have that at the expense of a mulitple game slide. I'm hoping that the rooks can play smart and simple and hopefully the offence mitigates the inevitibale defensive breakdowns.

Good news is Juice won't be out too long and should be rejoined by or rejoning Balard and Hamhuis around the same time.

I'm still a bit worried about Hammer. Concussions are unpredictable and it did look like he was out for a bit.

Sid was supposed to be a short-term loss as well....

Maybe it'll help in the contract negotiations.

Bieksa can now use the old ploy of, the canucks broke him....now they have to buy him...at full price of course.

I'll be quiet now. :picard:

'Bxa is anything but broke or broke ass as the kids say, from his association with the Canuck's. Heck, he's been sand bagging for 3 years.

Seriously, I hope some or all of the walking wounded start skating soon, I don't expect much from only half a team.

Speaking of injuries or being injury prone, isn't it ironic how Salo is one of the 2 top 4 Dmen on the ice out of 6 top 4ish guys?

One thing I noticed, Edler goes down, we still win. Ballard goes down, we still win. Hamhuis goes down,we struggle but we win. Alberts goes down, our depth is really tested but we win. BIEKSA GOES DOWN, WE LOSE. Maybe he pulls this defensive core together way more than many in here give/gave him credit for.

To be fair the mantra of BHAON (Bieksa Haters Anonymous or not) has been that the Canucks record with him in the lineup was crap compared to when he was not in the lineup. And the "gold standard" was the Canucks record with Salo in the lineup was awesome versus when salo was not in the lineup.

Seems that argument died a very quick death once we saw the Canucks do the best they have in a long time and maybe ever WITHOUT Salo.

Most arguments against Bieksa were wishful thinking at best.

Honestly I wouldn't look too much into this, I am sure it would of happened the same way if the injuries happened in another order. It is just getting to be a bit too much now.

Are you serious?

Edler goes down...the Nucks still had Ehrhoff, Ballard, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Alberts in the lineup. Nucks still win.

Nucks still win.

Bieksa goes down...the Nucks only had Ehrhoff, AHLers, and Salo with just a handful of games under his belt. Nucks lose.

Yeah...Bieksa the only reason why Nucks kept winning. Has nothing to do with the depleted depth. :picard:

Agreed. We're essentially playing AHL hockey here, what with our rookie D corps. Even the Sedins are slumping because they don't have the luxury of the 4th forward, in which Edler, Bieksa and Ehrhoff often play. Since Ehrhoff is our high-minute man, he can't be jumping up as much as he'd like, because he's needed to defend.
