Oh man...

Lol.

This is why I tell people to calm down when they start comparing guys like Boeser to Hull and McCann to Sakic. You're setting yourself up for major disappointment.

Just let these guys develop into their own players. They don't need to be compared to greats to be good.

With players like Prust easily signed to the team, I think Archibald would have had to really create a niche for himself on the big club to actually be able to stay. While he was decent, he never stood out to me.

I'm not surprised by him not making Utica. The competition's getting more fierce for spots as of late.

I'm still not convinced he was any less impressive during his cup of coffee under Torts than Kenins was during his last season under Willie. Was hoping they'd both have an opportunity to battle in camp for that 4th line LW spot rather than acquiring Prust.

But, Kalamazoo is a Blue Jackets affiliate.

Most ECHL rosters are made up of players signed by the ECHL team and are not property of any NHL or AHL team.  A hand full of players are assigned to them by a NHL or AHL team.  ECHL affiliations are mush looser than AHL affiliations.  Archie signed an ECHL contract with Kalamazoo so Vancouver and Utica no longer have his rights and he is free to sign a deal with any AHL team than may be interested in signing him mid season.

If we hadn't made that trade we would either have a messed up Kassian taking that spot, a messed up Kassian in rehab or a messed up Kassian on waivers.

Besides that, trying to compare one of the most complete enforcers in the game to a player who couldn't land an ahl contract is laughable.

Does anyone here know what the status of Archi is? I know he is here on a PTO, but how long does a PTO last? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

He signed a standard AHL contract with the Comets today so he will be here the rest of the season.
