They bring Waston up but, thus far this season, he has been ineffective.

Maybe that will change tonight?

It would be great, but truth be told, I'm more than happy with KW. His dominance in the air in the Caps' box has paid dividends already and will continue to do so for quite some time..

One of the best signings in team history, IMHO.

He really filled the gap when Demerrit left. When you sign a guy known for his big body, headers. and subbing in as a striker, you wouldn't expect solid defensive awareness and tight play to come into the package as well like they have. He has been great.

The hole formed by O'Brien's departure is still vacant though. I hope Rodriguez can do the job. He was really solid in the one full game he played for us. Pa modou Kah isn't the answer.

Honestly, I was at a loss to understand why O'Brien was not re-signed. He was the definition of solid for me.

I thought that Robinson might have an answer that maybe we fans weren't aware of, but at this point, it isn't apparent to me.

O'Brien publicly stated that the issue was mostly around length of contract and the role he would play in the future. That's not much detail, but I would guess that Robinson wasn't going to commit to a longer contract given the youth movement he seems to be going for?

I think Kah's contract is only for 1 year, seems like a band-aid solution while Robinson sorts it out.

I think you're correct. We've seen a steady influx of youth lately and I think it's all part of the plan. The downside is that the 'Caps will likely have to live with some "rookie" mistakes and at the back end, those have a way of finding the onion bag...

You know the reffing is atrocious when you have Jason de Vos defending the Whitecaps, let alone in a very passionate manner.

Like anyone just tuning in to test out the Whitecaps or soccer in general is going to be turned off when two guys get kicked out of a game for playing footsies.

But serious, get Kah out of a starting spot, lol. How are we playing a centre back who can't corral the ball, or handle crosses?

Would've been nice to see a shot on target, but that was asking to much with the way the team played.

As bad as the officiating was, I doubt it made any difference. The 'Caps didn't generate anything last night. This match was every bit as bad as the LA match was good.

I have to wonder at the substitutions by Robinson. In what planet was Manneh outplaying Mattocks last night? Kekuta looked lost out there. On the one decent chance he generated with his speed, he managed to dribble himself out of possession deep inside the 18 yard box and never got a shot off.

I suppose they were due for a clunker. The one surprise for me was that for once, it wasn't Wando that did us in...
