ckamo
Seems to be lots of slipping and falling today. Was it raining earlier in Vancouver today? I started watching after the 2nd ended in the Canucks game. So far, the Caps look OK, keeping most of the possession as far as I can see... Edit. Techera on the bench today. Maybe we'll finally get a glimpse! Edit 2. Damn, Laba out with 2 yellow cards. I don't suppose anyone here would have seen what happened? ckamo
Have I just not been watching consistently enough this season or are Pedro Morales' deliveries just not there this season? Also, I knew that Techera is tiny, but damn....he's tiny.

Also, I knew that Techera is tiny, but damn....he's tiny. He doesnt seem like the same player to me,,but he did score tonight..Rivero has gone cold...yes Techera is small...but I think when he finds his footing he will be exciting...bad day for sports..Whitecaps..Jays and Canucks all lose. ckamo
I'm surprised there was not chat either here or in the other soccer thread about the CCL match today. The Impact had a chance to make history.
Tom Sestito
I don't think there is a very broad soccer interest in vancouver, and that's why. the whitecaps are the most exciting soccer team in the MLS, #1 in the league, provide quality entertainment, have the best fans in vancouver, and are extremely fair priced. but, there is not a huge interest in the team yet. http://vancouversouthsiders.ca/forum/ i'd sign up and post there. otherwise, hf soccer sections are great because there's a lot of people who know soccer really well, who live in europe, follow academies, etc. Edited April 30, 2015 by Tom Sestito
FallenCR7A
The game reminded me of the Whitecaps home opener - flying in the first half, dead in the second. But yeah, there's a general interest in the Whitecaps here and across the league, but I don't think we're going to see a consistently filled stadium/stadium capacity crowds until we get a playoff home game. g_bassi13
I wasn't talking about it, because I didn't watch it, as it was on Sportsnet World instead of one their basic channels.
Caboose
MLS needs to take measures to cut out the broadcasts of foreign leagues if they want to establish a bigger following. Try as I might, I find it impossible to enjoy the MLS on field product, even though the Whitecaps are an electrifying team by the league's standards. Tom Sestito
Impossible. Casual sports fans won't wake up to watch premier league games. Those who do follow intently will find ways to watch their European clubs no matter what. Doing what you're suggesting will have no impact on the MLS. I have a good friend, formerly from North London. He gets up early to watch his Spurs play (and hopefully to watch the Gunners lose) but still enjoys watching the 'Caps, as well as TFC and Montreal when they're on. He's a Tottenham fan through and through, but he's a football fan first.

Whitecap scheduling is really horrible..I agree..these arent the only occasions ..but I must say this Kah guy has to go...what a crap player..he is so borderline on every play. edit-- the more I watch Rivero... the more he doesnt contribute much to the play..granted he has 5 goals..but lately he looks useless Edited May 3, 2015 by ShakyWalton

Kazmanian Devil
Kah sucks so hard. How can you have 300+ games of experience and make multiple rookie mistakes every match?

TBH, the only player I've noticed in a positive way has been Ousted of late...and that's probably not a good thing either. edit: Wooooooooah, Kah's halftime interview..."I guess someone can't tell the difference between my leg and my arm because I'm black" Edited May 3, 2015 by ckamo
