[Official] Vancouver Whitecaps Thread

Kah definitely needs to sit. Rivero is excused in my opinion. He is not getting much of the ball, or support when he has it. He still has his work ethic though and I see him help out defensively so at least he's doing that.

I'm guessing nobody here watched the rest of the match once the fight started?

I did.

'Caps were very lucky to get a point out of that game. The Timbers hit a post on a PK (a deserved penalty) and missed a header from a few yards out.

I can't think of a single decent chance for Vancouver all game.

Take that point and run...

Whitecap scheduling is really horrible..I agree..these arent the only occasions ..but I must say this Kah guy has to go...what a crap player..he is so borderline on every play.

edit-- the more I watch Rivero... the more he doesnt contribute much to the play..granted he has 5 goals..but lately he looks useless

This team looks so similar to last years team, and all the previous teams. They can't get the ball up field, and complete more than two passes in a row. Can't stand, kick and run football.

hey at least we can't play any worse than yesterday... I don't even know what to say about Kah other than he sucks and needs to be benched. Anyone know when Rodrigues is going to be back?

The scary thing is, I think we can.

Imagine if Waston gets hurt....

............or suspended.

He gets one of his yellows rescinded thanks to staying clean last night. Still, the 'Caps as a whole make far too many risky tackles. I'll be surprised if they don't lead the league in bookings.

Paolo Tornaghi will be making his Whitecaps debut on Wednesday despite being with the team for nearly a year and a half. He's been a really good sport about it though.

Wednesday? Would that be the Canada Cup (or whatever they call it) game against Edmonton?

After careful evaluation by the match officials and Canada Soccer, it was deemed unsafe for the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal first leg to proceed tonight in Edmonton. The match is being postponed due to unplayable conditions and because of the uncertain weather for Thursday, the match schedule will be revised.

“First of all, I’d like to thank our fans who made the trip to Edmonton. Their unwavering support is much appreciated by every member of our team,” said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. “We understand that all measures were taken in evaluating whether or not the match could be played. We respect the decision to postpone and look forward to hosting the first leg at BC Place next Wednesday.”

Next Wednesday’s match on May 13 at BC Place will go ahead as planned and will now be played as the first leg of the semifinal series. Kickoff for that match is set for 7 p.m. PT. Tickets remain available at whitecapsfc.com/tickets.

The second leg of the series will now be played in Edmonton on Wednesday, May 20 at Clarke Field. Kickoff time will be confirmed at a later date.

The new turf for the Women's World Cup goes in May 17.
