Batman Arkham City

I'm like stuck in one of the beginning missions, I can't figure out how the hell to get out of this room. So that just sort of pissed me off, and put this game on the back burner to Forza. But it is a pretty solid game so far, nonetheless.

I got stuck once on my way up from the fight pit (which was awesome, btw) to get to Penguin. There was an elevator to get to the next level up, but I made it go up without stepping onto it. That ended up opening up an area to get a Riddler trophy, but then I couldn't make the elevator come back down again, or find another way up. So I had to restart from the last checkpoint. I guess I'll have to go back for that trophy.

BTW, is there anything more gratifying than beating up the shark after he ate you four times?

On sale for $39.99 on Steam if you own Lego Batman or Arkham Asylum. Unlocks Nov.15. I really hope the PC port is good. I've been resisting the urge to get it for PS3.

Also, I hope the PC version includes all the DLC. I hate how most companies are doing that crap now (withholding game content for later release/launch day purchase).

Anyone that owns it: how many hours approximately did you spend playing? I'm hoping for around 30 hours. I loved Arkham Asylum (just got it for $10 - easily worth it) but I don't want to pay near full price if it's only another ~10 hour game.

Just began to play yesterday and I have to say I'm really enjoying it so far. It's been a while since I've played a game that I've thoroughly enjoyed and that I find myself excited just to start playing, probably since Fallout 3. The visuals for this game are great, love the mystery concept and the fact you feel like a detective in the game, and I'm really digging the combat system. Suffice to say, I can't wait to finish this and start on Arkham City.

*Spoiler*

Finished the game recently and thoroughly enjoyed it, if there's a next one I'm highly looking forward to it. I thought the first 2/3 of the game was at times well-paced/a bit stretched out, which was fine with me, but that the last 1/3 of the game could have been better paced; defeating Hugo Strange, Raj, then Clay Joker, followed by Joker himself happened too quickly in my opinion. The game also gives you plenty of incentive to continue exploring Arkham city once you have completed the main objective of the story by supplying you with numerous interesting side missions. This is a really well done game, as was its predecessor, but one flaw I found with this was that it was overwhelming at times with the seemingly thousands of riddler trophies to be found, and to a lesser extent the vastness of the city.

This has got to be one of, if not, my favorite video game series ever. But if I were to pick between which is the better of the two I'd personally pick Arkham Asylum because the way I see it is that they're both great games, but Asylum is smaller which allows for you to be more systematic in the area you cover which matches the way I go about playing my games.
