D pairings?

Hamhuis- Garrison

Edler- Corrado

Ballard-Alberts

Edler-Corrado sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. As much as I hate to say it, Ballard-Edler may be a bit better. Or maybe even split up Hamhuis-Garrison?

Hamhuis - Edler

Garrison - Corrado

Ballard - Alberts

Edler - Garrison

Hamhuis - Ballard

Alberts - Corrado

One of those two

So is he called up or not?

No official word or tweet confirming he is coming to Vancouver.

Just that he will find out this morning but no tweets since.

I'm thinking we get the announcement after the Wolves play later today.

Corrado neeeds a big defensibly responsible partner. The kid plays best when he is pinching and when he doesnt have to be the bruiser.

Hamhuis might be the best linemate for him. Ballard would be next. Corrado would be too busy baby sitting alberts but a big guy like that is what he is used to.

He worked well with Sefton most of the year in Sudbury because Sefton made sure he created space with his big body so Corrado wasn't overmaned.

Not to mention he hung back so Corrado could make plays on the rush.

I'd put him on the 2nd pp for sure.

Now that i think about it Corrado Hamhuis is the only pairing that really makes sense.

I can not agree that Ballard is a defensive specialist.

I can not agree that Ballard is a defensive specialist.

Nor that he's big. Even if Hamhuis' case, he's not the biggest guy but at least plays physical (or has in the past) and definitely is a defensive specialist. I don't know if I'd completely agree on putting the pairings that way based on that logic, but we'll see what happens with Bieksa and Tanev still out.

Confirmed, now just to see if he plays and who he pairs with.

Well give him the "Tanev Test" which is throwing him into a big game and seeing how he handles it. I'd pair him with Edler, but throwing a kid with 4 AHL games under his belt into a top-4 role against the best team in hockey may be a bit much LOL.

Is Ballard even playing tonight? If not, Corrado in the lineup before Joslin (I would think). Don't think they would risk putting him on the top 4 in his first NHL game.

Edler Garrison

Hamhuis Alberts

Ballard/Barker Corrado

If he looks good, switch him up with Alberts. If Ballard isn't playing, our 3rd pairing needs to have very low minutes. A pretty weak defense against the Hawks tonight.

Talk about being thrown into the fire!

If he gets called up, his 1st NHL game would be as a Vancouver Canuck against the Chicago Blackhawks :P

One of the best rivalries in hockey today.

Called it. And I love his reaction to being thrown into one of the best rivalries in modern day hockey!
