Are you kidding me ?

Penalized!?!

I actually made 4 deals all within 24 hrs, sorry for flipping assets to get what the Devils were lokking for. I was after Johansson and was not going to get him with Wilson at the time. I moved Wilson for an asset that would get me Johansson. The problem here ? Penalize ?

I flipped some asstes right after getting them in order to land the player I was looking for. Thats good GM'ing when your have nothing a team wants for a player and you turn your assets into what that said team does want.

I don't sign then trade players so perhaps those allegations need to be reviewed lol....unless you speak of Jeff Carter whom was going to be #1 center in Columbus and such would give me two top line centers.

Anyways guys there is nothing New Jersey has done here that is subject to an " agent keeping an eye on " or anything for that matter that could be penalized lol....makes me laugh.

The only thing that Mike could possibly be penalized for is if he were signing future free agents. They may be more inclined to ask for a NTC/NMC or less players would like to waive their clauses to come to NJ. It's just the way the trade was split up that's being critiqued right now. Honestly, if those were 3-4 way deals, nobody would've said anything.

I agree that Mike does not deserve to be penalized in any way because he really has never done anything to break any rule what so ever. However, if I was a top player or any player for that matter I would be pretty skeptical of signing in New Jersey. No matter how well players perform, they are treated like assets as opposed to people. A superstar like Malkin gets injured and therefore is shipped out of town for someone that will be more productive for the time being. Ovechkin has a huge season and is dealt for assets. It is just very unprofessional management and if I was a player, no matter how good New Jersey was I would not sign there. Just the fact that he will break team chemistry mid season and keep moving forward would bother me. It would be cool to get traded there at the deadline but there is basically no security playing in that city or much of a team concept.

I get that this is just a game Mike but while we are all trying to manage our teams like professionals, you are not. I know you are doing whatever it takes to win and that your managing strategy has assembled a stronger team than any of us has maybe you should just take this into consideration.

You know this is not a bash on you as a person because you are clearly one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated veterans in the league and you are an awesome guy but the way you manage your team does sort of bother me and clearly some others kind of agree.

CBJ SPORTS NEWS:

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

With training camp about to start, the Blue Jackets are flying into Cuba! Columbus has been busy in the off season, with GM Aixtek bringing in many new faces.

Saying goodbye is never ever easy, but everyone here in Columbus would like to wish the best in the future to the following players who have departed this year:

Joffrey Lupul, Michal Handzus, Tyler Bozak, Brian Lee, Tom Poti, Matt Greene, Derek Meech, Matt Hendricks, Sheldon Brookbank, Richard Clune, Ben Maxwell, Dylan McIlrath, Dennis Endras have all departed the organization.

A quick note about all players who made an appearance on CBJ's roster, but never got a chance to lace up the skates for a game; Sturm, Winchester, Penner, Ruutu, as well as prospects; Parent, Tatar, Y. Weber, Lindback, Falk, Bjugstad, Cohen all made drive by appearances during the off season.

Making a Splash in the Free Agent market, Columbus added Ryan Smyth, Brian McCabe and Steve Eminger. In via trades come Lucic, Bergfors, Sobotka, Boychuk, Weaver, Schultz, Komisarek as well as prospects Gormley, TJ Brennan, Aittokallio, Klefbom, Miller, Galiev, Saad. All players are enthusiastically welcomed to the city and fans are looking forward to some exciting hockey in the close future. Also, in case someone in the hockey world hasn't yet heard, there are also 20 additional players headed to CBJ after next seasons draft.

GM Aixtek is expected to make a statement soon with the Blue Jackets final roster for the season as well as the depth chart for the Miami Nukes. Rumour is CBJ is still after 1 or 2 key pieces and assets could be moved including picks.

Rumor: Sources suggest that the Habs have reached out to two unrestricted free agents and offered them contracts on the eve of training camp. Not much is known at this point about who these players are or what position they play, but it looks like Montreal is looking to improve the competition at camp while also adding depth to the organization.

Hey guys,

Believe it or not I was actually just asking for some thoughts on how the Devils would stackup against other teams this upcoming season. I think maybe that got missed.

I don't really care for other GM's inaccurate presumptions nor do I care if im " bothering " a fellow GM with my managing style. I have kept all my promises to my players, moved two players I signed within a month to give said players better roles on other teams. If making more trades than the " NHL " pace of transactions is unprofessional then sorry to say with the exception of say greensman, canuck2xtreme, theminister, squeak to name a few we are all guilty.

Thanks.

If I was a player I wouldn't mind signing with NJD, but I'd want a fat contract, or an NMC/Limited-NMC... they're still a contender... to say "UFAs won't want to sign with a team because of their practices" is a wrong idea... the right idea is "UFAs will expect substantially better contracts, while a good pitch from other teams at a lesser value is more likely to sway them the other way"

Also, as someone who's done it myself once or twice, I have to say I don't think it's that big of a deal as long as you're not immediately shopping your players - if they are specifically asked for by other teams, shouldn't the player feel flattered? Especially if they are getting an increased roll and still keep the fat contract?
