I was one of those GM's unclear about the FO Budget - I was under the impression if you didn't spend at least the minimum in Medical, then you couldn't place players on IR (now that it's been explained to me, I almost feel silly - but honestly, thats a really sweet game mechanic).

Anyways, I voted for #1, but I'd be happy with #2, or whatever - it's not THAT big of a deal, but for me, having any money in Medical right now is completely pointless and if I wasn't misconcepted, I would never have done it.

I have a budget question: I have noticed that some teams have a budget listed at say 77.3m while others have 71.3m and I saw one yesterday around 67m

Is this just the preseason inflation and all teams will have to get below 64.3m for the start of the season? Or if my guess is inaccurate, could someone tell me how this works?

The Habs Training Camp has produced some very interesting story-lines, and has given the Montreal brass much to think about going into the final weeks before the regular season opens.

The player who has perhaps given himself the best chance to make the big squad is Evgeny Grachev, as he has been excellent so far in both practice and game situations. His stock has risen tremendously. Other players who were initially pegged for the minors that have improved their chances to make the main team are Dylan McIlrath, Radko Gudas, Jeff Taffe and Brad Thiessen.

No cuts have been made at this point, but the first set of cuts should be announced early this week.
