REPORT: The Winnipeg Jets are looking to make some moves both in the next few days and on deadline day. Sources indicate that the club is in talks with as many as 5 other teams about trades to bolster Winnipeg's playoff roster. However, one deal is considered a lynchpin deal, and if it goes through, it could be a catalyst to several others going down in short order. If it doesn't, it could be back to the drawing board.

Due to injuries to key players Pavel Datsyuk, Dan Carcillo and Jamie Langenbrunner the Washington Capitals have made these changes to their current lineup:

Mike Knuble - Patrik Elias - Alexander Semin

Evander Kane - Sam Gagner - Kyle Turris

Matt Halischuk - Boyd Gordon - Jordin Tootoo

Mattias Tedenby - Jacob Josefson - Zack Kassian

Keith Yandle - Tobias Enstrom

Johnny Oduya - Roman Hamrlik

Mark Fayne - Ryan Ellis

Mark Flood

Mikka Kiprusoff

Devean Dubnyk

Clearly the Caps roster is looking pretty thin with the most important part of the season coming up and GM da.moose will be exploring all options at proving his team with some more depth. However, da.moose has stated that he will not make any trades that he does not feel will benefit the team long term.

The biggest name rumoured to be on the block is Alexander Semin due to the Capitals cap situation and his expiring contract. However, that is all speculation and Semin is currently playing his best hockey of the season and has been the Caps most consistent forward all month.
