(Rumour) Washington Capitals star winger and highest paid player Alexander Semin will be traded at the deadline tomorrow. Semin has been hot as of late with 5 points in his last 5 games as well as 30 points in his last 31 one games. One source told me that a trade has already been agreed upon and that the league is just waiting for the paperwork to be completed before announcing it.

Report: Several Kings players are rumoured to still be available as the deadline nears, including Michael Grabner, Ryan Strome, Michael Frolik, and several prospects. The Kings continue to search for a 3rd line center and added playoff depth.

Further reports suggest that a deal has already been made in LA, and a versatile youngster could be joining the team soon...

The Montreal Gazette

MONTREAL - With a solid 47 point night yesterday, the Habs go into trade deadline day with a tough decision to make. Montreal currently sits 171 points behind the Boston Bruins for the 8th and final playoff spot, but has gained 153 points on them in the month of February alone. Can they actually close the gap before the season runs out? That is the decision that GM _arby_18 has to make.

With playoff bound players like Erik Condra and Matt Greene expected to be in the playoffs, as well as players on bubble teams like Jerred Smithson, Jim Slater, Ron Hainsey, David Jones and potentially even veteran Milan Hejduk, the Habs may have some chips at the trade deadline table. Rumors of actual trades of Mark Streit and Chad Larose could make them valuable commodities as well.

However, don't expect the Habs to blow up their core of youth that they've assembled. Rick Nash, Brent Burns, Patrik Berglund, Braydon Coburn, Jakub Kindl and Shawn Matthias are virtually untouchable, and only a massive overpayment would convince the Habs to move one of them. Also, veterans like Alex Tanguay and Erik Cole have been tremendous this year and the Habs have no reason to even consider moving them, either.
