I have a question about our draft...

we are in total selecting 90 players right? So what happens to the other players who will be NHL drafted but not drafted by us the day before...can we negotiate to sign them? And what happens to players not drafted by us, and not drafted by the NHL? Lastly what if, on the weird chance it happens, we draft a player who is not drafted in the NHl? Can we pick a replacement player at say the 91st selection, once the NHL draft is done? I don't see that one happening but i guess there is a chance.

Thank you for being patient with me...*its my first draft, so naturally there are questions.

Any player not drafted in our league who is still eligible for the draft in 2013 cannot sign with any team and will be eligible to be selected in the draft in 2013, even if they were drafted in the NHL in 2012.

A player drafted by our league but not the NHL remains a prospect in your system. There are no replacement players in such a situation.

If you miss you selection because you ran out of time, or didn't provide a list, you will have a 10 minute window at the end of each round to make your selection. Once another round has started, you cannot make up your missed selection from the previous round until the end of the round.

I am strongly opposed to adding points for blocked shots or hits. I had 3 guys on my defense, (Sutton, Peckham, and Murray) that have since been traded away and guys I have brought in include Josi and Lee. Without a doubt the 2 guys I bring in, I feel are better overall players than the guys I traded (no offense to them) but in terms of pool points, those 3 would likely surpass my new acquisitions.

Also, guys like Dustin Brown are average 1st/excellent 2nd liners, and Cal Clutterbuck who is more of a 3rd liner than a 2nd, will get their values increased dramatically though they didn't all of a sudden become better players. Even if it's a 0.000001 point per hit/blocked shot, I am against it.

I am officially done with ranking the 2012 draft year ...lol i did 122 players, and my last pick is 67th...so I am double done. Now I just have the last minute shuffle and decision making to do.

The rangers window starts at 37th and ends at 67th this year, so I think I really put in Overkill on that . I know none of the top twenty will slip to 37th, but hey. the 29th might, and on the back end...its pretty tight up there from 60 to 120, so I wanted to look at all the potentials and really get a feel for them. The Rangers think we are in a great spot this draft, despite the lack of a first round pick. With 4 second rounders and a 3rd we will be adding 5 quality prospects to our pool. Can't wait for the draft!
