Holy frack. Marco Reus is reportedly set to join Real Madrid this Summer. 5 year deal which will make Reus earn the same weekly wage as countryman Toni Kroos doubling his current salary.

As a Madrid supporter, really happy but at the same time feel for Dortmund big time. Another star player leaving for the 3rd consecutive season. If they could've kept Lewandowski, Gotze, and Reus, they'd be one of the most fearsome clubs in the world winning many trophies. Sad their players leave when they're contracts are coming to an end they go for big paydays.

As for Real Madrid, wow...Ronaldo, Bale, James, Hernandez, Isco, and now Reus!? It's just unfair, and then you have Benzema, Kroos, Modric...real happy if the report is true and I believe Reus will do well but not great. Will be hard for him to fit in with those players and get his fair share of the spotlight. Will be a great addition no doubt, but not at all the same level of damage as he had on BVB.

Why are they doing that? Reus has either been ineffective or hurt this season.

I assume Gareth Bale is on his way out if they're bringing in Reus.

Manchester United (as always) is linked with Bale so if Reus signing is legit, more likely it's possible though I still believe Bale will stay put in Madrid.

Both. At heart a United fan but Madrid b/c my fav player Ronaldo (alongside Rooney) left there. EPL United, La Liga RM

I hate United and I hate it when the league is referenced as the EPL. It's the PL...what other football league could you possibly be referencing?

it used to be called the EPL (EE PEE EL) by casters all over sportsnet and on canadian coverage for years. i'm pretty sure that's a very normal thing, like soccer instead of football

Just tells me that there are a bunch of outsiders looking in. That is - akin to being a hockey fan in England.

Funny - last time a checked there was a Welsh club in the PL.

If you want to discuss the Sri Lankan premier league go nuts....doubt you know of a single club.

Russian and Scottish are mildly important.

We only say Premier League in person, because... you know... there are no dirty Scots in real life. But on this forum there are a bunch of Ranger/Celtic peons all over this thread. So English PL or Barclays PL it is.

If people want to discuss the Russian or Scottish clubs, that is CSKA or Celtic, they reference them by name. Most football fans in the world, notwithstanding CDC apparently, accept that the PL refers to the top 3 league that resides in Britain.

I still don't know how someone can support Real and United.

Different leagues first off, and both teams share a pretty close relationship swapping players often.

...and Pogba hinting he might come back to United of the time is right and doesn't have harsh feelings when they originally let him go.
