87Crosby.. You forgot Smalling on your for sale list. Could also add Mata and Fellaini to the sell list. Mata is a good player, but unless they use a system that suits him, he is wasted at Utd. And Fellaini... unless we want to continue like Wimbledon, he is toast..

Honestly Smalling has been pretty good this season, except against Man City, and Mata is actually a good player as a number 10. What really makes me sad is the injuries this team has seen. I believe if we were fit with only a couple of injuries since October/November we could be in title contention. Squad chemistry would have been better and Falcao could have adjusted to the Emglish game better as well.

Injuries has been curse this season, no doubt about that. Title contenders... Not so sure (but not worried as LVG's first season was always about steadying the ship and get into top 4)

Don't really think Smalling has had a good season. I get close to a heart attack, every time he think he's Beckenbauer, and starts to dribble up through the field. In defence of Smalling, the system played earlier in the season (3 at the back) didn't suit him nor Jones.

With regards to Mata, yes he is a fab player, but again the system Van Gall had utd playing doesn't suit his qualities. Mata is a great no. 10, in a tight 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-1-2 with one winger, but if you play two wingers and two strikers, the midfield gets thin defensively when he plays behind the striker/strikers. LVG want to play with two pacy wingers (the utd way), and pace is not his strength. I will not be surprised to see Mata leave in the summer (despite him having a good game today)... It could be a straight fight between Mata and Fellaini to be no. 10 in the 4-3-3 system played today, which LVG normally favours.

United didn't play 4-3-3. I'm pretty sure we played a 4-1-4-1

De Gea

Valencia-Jones-Smalling-Blind

Carrick

Mata-Herrera-Fellaini-Young

Rooney

OK. I'll give you that.

Point was Mata has to play behind main striker or as winger (if you play the utd way), otherwise midfield becomes two thin.

Great game by Utd today. Hope they can bring that level of play next Sunday v Liverpool. If so they may be able to get a positive result... Cmon

Best game they've played this season by a long shot. Rooney is played upfront and coincidentally the team was on fire. Geez LVG, who woulda guessed :P

And so Arsenal is bounced once again from the CL in the round of 16.

They had their chances today but couldn't overcome that dismal game last month. And the late last goal in that game by Monaco.

If they had held it to a 2-1 loss.......

If, if , if.....
