STATE OF THE FRANCHISE

The Nashville Predators are 43 games into the season, and we've posted results that are far from acceptable, and we expected so much more. After a 18-22-3 record so far, the Nashville Predators have decided we're going to go into a rebuild phase. We feel this shouldn't be a season long thing, hell, some youngblood could push us into the playoffs. We're currently a team that has plenty of players in their prime or near it, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. The consistency is not there, and it's time to rejuvenate this roster.

The "rebuild" we plan to go into, will be similar to the NHL (not VHL) Philadelphia Flyers where they traded for youngblood, and did well for them. We believe this shouldn't be your typical rebuild where it takes a few years to gain some legitimacy in the league again.

With that being said, the following players will be on the chopping block, but if a deal can't be reach that makes sense for us. The players we're putting on the block, are a bit older, but they're damn near PPG players on a team here that has been inconsistent all year so far.

The players I'll be listening to offers for (don't ask me "what do you want for so and so") include:

Martin Erat - 46GP - 13G - 23A - 36PTS

Martin could really excel on a team that can give him better linemates, and with more icetime whether it be PP or whatever it be. Good, dependable defensive player. More of a playmaker, but could be a goal scorer if placed on the wing of an all-around centermen. Would be a nice 2nd line winger to provide secondary scoring and take pressure of the 1st line. Could truly push a team into the playoffs, or could make a team a bigger contender.

Would add great experience to a team looking for more (too much is never a bad problem). Very durable, good endurance, and is a good skater. Only 30 years old, lots of years in him yet.

Flyers will be very quiet when it comes to trades; happy with the team going into the playoffs as is (no wiggle room, anyways).

Still looking to trade away some AHL/prospect contracts (basically give away to anyone who needs some bodies in the minors).
