Dallas Stars Team Awards

Team MVP - Mike Ribeiro

With 80 points in 78 games, Mike defied all his detractors, putting up stellar numbers. Primarily a playmaker, his wingers Loui Eriksson and Jamie Benn put up 29 and 20 goals respectively.

Top Goalie - Jack Campbell

In his first NHL year, he seized the starting job away from veteran Miikka Kiprusoff, and ran with it. Finishing the year with a winning record (24-21-2) on a subpar Dallas team, as well as a 0.908 SV% and a 2.76 GAA.

Top Defenceman - Stephane Robidas

Leading the team in hits, blocked shots, takeaways and tied for 2nd in defenceman scoring on the team, Robidas was the backbone on defence.

Rookie of the Year - Jack Campbell

Expected to be a Calder finalist, this would mark the 2nd year in a row Dallas has had a top rookie (Landon Ferraro was a finalist in 2012)

Top Point Scorer - Mike Ribeiro

2nd on the team in goals, and first in assists, Ribeiro has cemented himself as one of the league's top centres.

Top Goal Scorer - Loui Eriksson

Despite missing 19 games with a wrist injury, Loui scored like crazy. He put up 29 goals, which put him on a 37 goal pace.

Top Defensive Forward - Steve Ott

The prototypical 3rd line centre, Ott had 15 goals and 28 points, mainly playing on the 4th line with tough wingers Cody McLeod and Adam Burish. He logged 14:00 minutes per game, including 3:18 shorthanded minutes per game

Qualities of Perseverance and Sportsmanship - Mike Ribeiro

Despite being publicly put down by multiple GMs, he ignored the hate and finished the season with 80 points, despite GMs stating it'd be lucky if he hit 70.

Player who Displays Gentlemanly Conduct - Steve Ott

He turned his game around this year, dropping his PIM to 8 minutes in 82 games, down from 211 last year. Never once complaining about linemates or role, despite the general consensus that he could easily be a top 6 player on the Stars, at least a 3rd line centre. He took young centre Max Reinhart under his wing, teaching him the finer points of the game in all areas.
