It will interesting to see Oklahoma without Bob Stoops on the sideline.

I expect them to do their usual. Be in the hunt (sort of) but also be in that second tier of teams that you would consider true contenders. (Behind 'Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, Florida, etc)

I'm happy to see Washington in the mix as well. I don't know if it's even possible, but it would be awesome to see my two favorite teams in a bowl game at season's end.

It may have been The Biggest Game On Opening Week Ever!!!! but it was kind of a dud, I thought.

Neither Alabama nor Florida State did much until Florida imploded in the second half.

Maybe there's something to be said about starting out against weaker teams, using those games as basic exhibition games, getting your team in sync and then having a major showdown between two good teams.

Too bad about that injury to Francois.  Hope it isn't as bad as it looked.

I remember watching a Warren Moon led Husky team destroy Michigan in the '78 Rose Bowl.  It was awesome!

As 45-point road underdogs, it was easy to think before the game that this would be little more than a tune-up match for the UNLV Rebels; a chance to put their team to a light test before taking on bigger schools on the schedule. Unfortunately for them, no one told the visitors that, and Howard University proved to be too much for UNLV to handle, winning the game 43-40.

Howard was led by Caylin Newton, younger brother of Cam Newton, and showed some of the same dual-attack ability his sibling is known for, finishing the game with 330 total yards and three touchdowns in the game. The upset came just a day after the ten-year anniversary of Appalachian State's wild upset over Michigan in Ann Arbor, but as ESPN notes, that game did not have a spread archived at the time it was played, making Howard's win the biggest upset in history in the context of Vegas lines.

While Las Vegas didn't offer a moneyline on the game, some online sportsbooks had Howard to win the game available at prices up to 600/1, with some lucky bettors cashing in on bets, if Twitter is to be believed.

I love college football.  Too bad my Gators lost.

I cannot fathom that USC-Texas game. Like, are you serious?! Great teams win the tight games, and that is exactly what we did tonight. Backs against the wall, drive down the field with no timeouts, force OT, force a turnover and win it. All due respect to Texas though, I thought you were going to break my heart again. The Horns played with emotion and that is why they brought USC to the wire.

Fight the **** On!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a few moments, more than 65,000 people will wave in unison to this room of fierce, fragile children, many of whom are sick, injured or recovering. Perhaps you've seen the videos and photos of the greatest new tradition in sports—an idea that began organically through social media before it sprung to life.

It is the simplest of gestures—a way of saying hello that is used each and every day without much thought—but for those who sit on the other side of the glass, it is so much more. It is an acknowledgment of the struggles that have taken place and the others still to come. It is jolt of support from a sea of perfectly good strangers.

It is, in the simplest and purest of terms, a wave of hope.

Props to the Iowa football program and it's fans....

Yeah that's awesome.  They almost beat another top 5 team at home, too bad they lost to Penn State on Sat.

Another note: Go Gators!  They narrowly beat Kentucky on the weekend.  I know they're not going to challenge for a football powerhouse this year but they got a top freshmen recruit QB Felipe Franks and are rumoured to be in contention for the top WR recruit this year.  Snagging top recruits, and keeping them from Alabama,  is a step in the right direction::D
