Calgary has very few blue chip assets.

Flames will be an 10-12 place team for the next 7-8 years. This club has a horrible habit of trading away draft choices.

Drafting is a bit of a luck thing and teams need to increase the odds by having all their picks and even trading for additionals.

Flames club has had the completely wrong strategy to building a quality depth club.

Flames fans will now pay the price by cheering for a bottom feeder for the next 7-8 years.

Sad to see a once proud team / franchise destroyed right in front of your eyes.

They should of started rebuilding last year or the year before that. They are dumb to keep thinking they'll get 8th and do playoff damage

You are just trading older decline players for other teams older decline skills players.

Not the way to cup for the flames. Calgary has to hoard draft picks and get younger quicker underpaid players into the organization. Create a fun team with a culture of winning. Convince these young players as they age to sign under value contracts to stay with the organization.

The team to model is the Detroit franchise.

Build through the draft and be patient. It will take 5-6 years.

I'm not sure they should attempt an all-out rebuild -they haven't shown the ability to pull that off... they should probably take it a little slower than an all-out rebuild, and not make too many hasty moves...
