dudeone
Julian Assange to host new TV talk show The Power Index Tuesday, 24 January 2012 http://www.thepowerindex.com.au/power-move/julian-assange-to-host-new-tv-talk-show/20120124956 WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange will interview key "political players, thinkers and revolutionaries" as host of a new television talk show to be syndicated worldwide. In a statement posted on the whistleblower website today, Assange announced that the TV series will comprise 10 weekly half-hour episodes and debut in mid-March. "Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it," Assange says in the statement. "Are we heading towards utopia, or dystopia and how we can set our paths? This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before." Assange remains frustrated by the lack of assistance from the Australian federal government over his prolonged overseas legal plight, three weeks ahead of his appeal against extradition in the UK Supreme Court. Described by WikiLeaks as "one of the world's most recognizable revolutionary figures", Assange has made the top 10 in The Power Index's countdown of Australia's most influential Thinkers. In an exclusive interview, he told us he remains frustrated by a lack of assistance from the Australian federal government over his prolonged overseas legal plight. Assange is fighting an extradition order to Sweden to face sexual assault allegations, and is the subject of an ongoing Grand Jury investigation in the United States over his role in the publication of secret diplomatic cables. It is not yet known whether Assange's show, to air mostly on cable TV stations, will be shown in Australia.
