Bieksa + Edler = ?

Hmm, Hamhuis and Tanev is interesting.

I wonder if they're trying to get Tanev to use the offensive side of his game more. He's a great skater, and has a pretty hard shot. It would be nice to see the coaching staff let him wheel and deal a little more. Because I think he could be an option on one of our PP units.

I liked it, our defense looks more balanced this way. Salo gives Gragnani more room for him to jump in the attack, and Hamhuis experience will help out Tanev. They can both move the puck well, and Edler and Bieksa looks great in both ends.

I really hope that this works out, it doesn't have to be permanent, but I'm looking forward.

I don't think that this pairing will work.

Hammer and Tanev seems like a true shutdown pairing.

The bottom two pairings look decent (though Hammer and Tanev are a little too conservative and without a shooter; not worried really about Edler and Bieksa, I think they've shown that they can do enough to cover their own mistakes; looking forward to the Gragnani-Salo pairing, offensive puck-mover with a steadier guy with a bomb on the other side). I guess what really intrigues me (and probably everyone else) is the Twins - Raymond unit and how they'll pan out together.

= disaster? lol

well, when we you have two who love to pinch are very offensive, who gonna play defense? Before, we had edler (offensive) with salo (defensive), Bieksa (offensive) with Hamhuis (defensive), Gragnani (offensive) with tanev (defensive?) <--considering their strengths..

But is it just me or Hamhuis and Tanev can be a GREAT shutdown pair?? Of course, a more experienced Tanev with Hamhuis...

Gragnani and Salo should be good. I am jjust a tiny bit* worried about Edler and Bieksa + stanchion? lol

I really like both players alot, but whenever they played together last year it was a defensive nightmare. Neither one was more too blame than the other...Edler couldn't hold the puck in the offensive zone to save his life and KB3 couldnt have timed his pinches at worse times if he tried. But maybe this year it'll work out...
