Sugar baby watermelon
A few different teams can contend, like Boston, New York, Philly right?? But can anyone take on Pittsburgh?? This team is frickin scary and looks like a champion team, rolling three lines with Crosby making Matt Cooke look like Anson Carter with the Sedins!!! Your thoughts?? Franz Liszt
It's Pittsburgh. But you know something, during the playoffs, teams are going to hit like mad against the Penguins, and I feel Crosby will eventually tire out about game 3 or so. YYC Canuck fan
Pittsburgh definitely. It's just a matter of how durable Crosby remains into the playoffs with the rough, physical play of teams like NY, Philly, and Boston. The rest of the team is hot too but we all know how that can fade under the physical grind of playoff hockey.
swflyers28
Pittsburgh. But the Rags, Bruins and my Flyers if they get some key guys who are injured (Kubina, Mezaros and JVR) back, they are a threat as well. NJ maybe, but we've all seen what Martin Brodeur has done lately in the playoffs since the lockout.
The Brahma Bull
Definitely the Peguins and you know there will be an order by the nhl front office to protect Crosby from scrums by dishing out penalties to the other teams.
tocnhockey
Pittsburgh looks to be the team to beat in the east and the SCF, imo. At this stage of the game, I can't see the Canucks beating teams like the Pens.....there seems to be a missing ingredient with our team right now, something is not clicking..sad to say
Xbox
Rangers = Overrated My vote goes to either the Flyers or Pens but they play each other first round anyways (Most Likely)
BabychStache
Pittsburgh, Shero is a genius. They have depth at all positions, have won already. Arguably the best 2 players in the game, arguably 1 of the top 5 goalies, a potential norris calibre dman, the BEST 3rd line center in the league. mix all that up with a solid supporting cast and they look lethal. Although i am looking forward to their first round. I hope they pull Boston in the opening series, The B's will try and beat em up.
D-Money
This thread would have been interesting a few weeks ago. But now the answer is so completely obvious, that it is pretty redundant. Barring a serious injury to Crosby or Malkin, the Pens are probably going to run away with the East.
Karlsson`s Flo
Ya I think the thread should be "Who has the best chance of upsetting the Penguins in the East?"
van_ws
Pens look unbeatable in the East right now... depth at all positions, everything clicking and Crosby is back. I don't expect the Bruins to make it out of the second round.

TOMapleLaughs
Pittsburgh is going right now, but they need to stay healthy. Not just Crosby, who they're sheltering, but Letang as well. Letang is almost as important as Malkin to their team and has sustained two concussions this season. Philly is finally getting the goaltending they've paid for, but unless Pronger comes back they really lack that response to a guy like Letang. Timmonen to me has always been overrated. Always a hit away from injury. However, their offense is really deep. If Bryz steals games, who knows. NYR has been getting stellar goaltending and good health all season. Until lately. Lundy might be a bit overworked while guys like Callahan, Del Zotto and Anisimov have suffered injury. With Boston being really disjointed since January, it's between those other three teams, imho. Probably Pittsburgh if they stay as healthy as they are at the moment. Easier said than done. Cheers. TOML

Captain Aerosex
Pittsburgh or Boston, but my hat goes to the Penguins. There's too much firepower there.
Baka
The favorite will be whoever wins the Atlantic division. Pittsburgh might be the sexy pick right now but reality is if they don't win the Atlantic division they will finish in ether 4th or 5th in the standings. Meaning the road to the cup would likely require them to beat the Flyers, Bruins, and Rangers and though they certainly have the talent to do so the odds of them doing it to all of them will be very hard. Compared to winning the Atlantic and possibly swapping two of those teams out for what now would likely be Washington and New Jersey. So I would say whoever wins the Atlantic.
