Was Being "bold" And Over-Confidence Gillis' Fault?

The only thing we could have lost with the Hodgson trade is team chemistry, which shouldnt be underrated. Its quite a huge factor in performance! Im not sure if the team is comfortable with Kassian. Although, Im pretty sure we started this slump or just barely squeezing away with points since well before the trade deadline!

Keith Ballard will help this team more than I think people give him credit for.

Seems to me, this team's defense became pretty average about the time that he went down with injury.

Hamhuis Bieksa

Edler Salo

Ballard Rome

This is an obvious upgrade over:

Hamhuis Bieksa

Edler Gragnani

Tanev Rome

Would you have traded Hodgson, a 1st, and Mason Raymond for Brent Burns? Hellz yeahs. Too bad Burns played for Minnesota.

Imagine if we had a 6'5, tough and skilled all round defense man, who could do this

Pair em with Edler, and You'd have two towers of power that can be dangerous offensively, and can kill you with a giant hit. Neither, take much penalties either. Always on the ice. Guess, we'll have to wait for Suter or Weber now.

Since the Boston game in January and then since the deadline, Gillis failed to fill a Top 4 D and more offense and then does the unthinkable by dealing Hodgson for Kassian and MAG who so far haven't done much to help the team at all.

Was the bold moves by Gillis and his at times overconfidence a result of the team tanking the past while? Is it up to him to have a TEAM/Manager meeting or perhaps do another bold move and fire the coach?

I think you guys are just being a bunch of sore losers right now. If you are a true fan, you understand team goes through slump and need to regain their groove. In my opinion, it is a good thing that we're slumping right now. It is always better to slump early then slump in the Stanley Cup Final. Just continue to show your support for your team, and hope for the best and believe in the group we have. Trade has passed, team rosters are locked, deal with it.

Hey mr mc smarty pants: Yea, Hodgson was our chance to win the Cup cause he's the allstar.

We definitely don't have the horses for a long playoff run, because we practically have the same team as last year, got tough which = longer playoff runs, but your the don here who knows a lot.

Never knew that your Australian roommate, who just started watching hockey prior to the deadline, can tell the fate of a team due to how the teams looked lately, and not to mention the most important part, your going to stop following the team for the rest of the season, and get back on the bandwagon when the playoffs start; bold move.

Another mr mc smarty pants here.

(.....I know this may sound mean, but there's no other way to put it into words without it going straight through the ears of these guys:

You guys who think the Canucks have no chance, team sucks, Hodgson was going to win the Cup for us cause he would of weared down opponents and not Kassian, recent play means the team sucks = you guys are morons.)

I watch all 82 Canuck games every year and of the 41 played in Vancouver I just don't see this big switch they apparently have, that, according to some fans, they plan on throwing in April.I have seen video of the dressing room and the coaches offices and the training area and thier new kitchen down there.I have seen a ton of camera angles in the building and haven't seen this post season switch they have.I am pretty sure by this point Murph would have done some kind of story about the magical, they are just waiting for the playoffs switch, that the rest of us fans haven't seen.Maybe it's strapped to the arse of a unicorn or perhaps carried in the gold dust bag of a leprechaun.Geeze, maybe we missed it on St.Pattys day last weekend. All I know is that I am hoping get to see that switch the same day this years team hoists the cup.I ain't holding my breath till then.
